When I first got my cockatiel, she would not eat vegetables. She would eat healthy pellets, but not vegetables or fruits. I made some chop, and sprinkled millet on it, and it worked a miracle. She ate the millet, and then began eating the chop. It was such a happy day!

@@Mothasuperior1 Broccoli, Romain lettuce, raw carrots, a tiny bit of apple, and a few chopped almonds. Try cutting the chop in different ways, it worked great for me! Try cutting it small, big, thin, or even shredding it! Also try using a paper towel to dry a small piece of romaine lettuce off, sometimes they don’t like the moistness. 😊 I hope this helps!

Jamieleigh, you and Capri must have had so much fun! I'm pretty sure that Capri is going to follow in your (and Dave's) footsteps. Please don't be tempted to enslave a bird/animal. Animals make the best of whatever situation they are put/thrust into, they don't have a choice, they have to take whatever is given. They make themselves happy to make you happy. They should be flying freely like god wanted them to but the selfish ,ugly, heartl/conscience-less two-legged ugly monsters wanna play with the lives of everybody else.

Yes, just try it!!! I don't think I made the seasonal feeding system food to freeze so we'll, but my two parakeets did not care at all. They totally dug into it and did not stop eating it until it was gone! They were from Petco, I just got them so they were raise for a few months on the junk store seeds. It really surprised me and makes me super happy 😊

I can't order the BT birdie bread, but I make my own ❤️ I use mine when I am traveling with my Meyer's parrot Meeko, it's easy to bring along and give my bird a snack in the car that won't roll away or spoil on the trip. I also like to offer it if im having a meal and Meeko is a bit too interested in what im eating 😂 I make my bread with all good ingredients that won't spoil his appetite for his fresh foods. I use chia seeds instead of egg for the binding agent, and I sneak in all kinds of healthy fats, veggies, low sugar fruits and almond flour. It's especially helpful for my hard keeper cockatiel who is more of a picky beak, im able to sneak in some extra good foods and she thinks she eating junk food

My Grey "Gavin" is picky too...lol On a side note...I have a larger Air Fryer, or use your oven. I bought a couple Silicone Egg Bite Molds that fit into my Air Fryer...makes the perfect size lil-muffins. I freeze them as well and get them out as needed.

Here are some tips on getting a bird onto a healthy diet: Sprout seeds, it is super easy and flock talks has a video on it. Once they prove to you they can eat sprouts or that they can eat something that isn't seeds stop giving them unsprouted seeds. Then give them only sprouts for a couple of days, and after that, start putting a little bit of sprouts on top of chop. Then they probably wont eat it all at once they will only eat the sprouts. So put the bowl in their cage and leave them in their for a while, like while you are at school or work. Slowly add less sprouts. This will only work if they have not had unsprouted seeds for a while. For getting them onto pellets, use an unhealthy pellet. Like Zupreem fruit blend. It is not healthy that is why they love it. My cockatiel likes the bigger zupreem fruit pellets. Since cockatiels are natural ground foragers I put her on a water proof mat used for changing babies diapers, (clean of course) and but zupreem fruit blend pellets and her healthy pellets on the mat and she eats mostly the zupreem pellets, but also the healthy pellets. What I am going to do next is slowly ween her on to healthy pellets. She is almost converted. This is what worked for my cockatiel, it will not work for every bird, but i have found when I give her unsprouted seeds after not having them for a few days, she wont eat anything but seeds. She hasn't seen unsprouted seeds in her bowl in weeks and she is starting to really eat healthier. She ate mostly sprouts for a while though.

We love your chop recipe! I had such a good time making it and the birds were all hanging out too. We are babysitting a Miligold macaw whose owner said his diet mainly consisted of nuts and seeds! Pasta and human food as well. Well... he tried your chop after two days! I'm so happy. This bird is 13 years old and it's like he's just been waiting to be given a healthier diet. We're also trying to get him on pellets. The only sad part is we will eventually have to give him back to the owner (with some feeding advice). I wanted the birdie bread but I only have non-stick muffin pans. I know I could make it in a glass pan but is silicone ok?

We have a severe macaw that hates eggs & shells. Initially, we've tried hard boiled, scrambled, and sunny side up once a week, but chooses to not eat anything for the day and scream.

Sorry we are a sanctuary with a bunch of other eclectus that love eggs mixed in with crumbled shells. Is there any recipe that uses eggs and shells? She is already on a healthy diet. She just hates eggs, and seems like she even needs the calcium. We do regularly blend ALL of our organic egg shells from us. She just will scream for the day or wait until we bring her regular EVERYDAY meal because we do take the eggs away after a few hours.

Fruit doesn't have a whole lot of nutritional value, so focus on the veggies, legumes, sprouts and grains.

BirdTricks pellets and Tops pellets have the exact same ingredient panel and even the same order of ingredients. Literally dead on the same. And yet BirdTricks charges $30 for a 4lb bag while Tops charges $18 for 4lb bag. They're even made in identical ways. I'm so confused by this.
