Nice one! I guess every color would have looked good on that wonderful top. After the steelwool, that tricky spot was definitely way better.

Love burl ! It's the Chromatic Flop ! So much to work with . I bet using automotive tri - color as a wash coat . 2 maybe 3 coats .75 mils. Sanded back say 70% per coat leaving it in the open grain, would come out just bitchen' ! The Flop would just be amazing ! Looks good by the way ! 👍

In what order do you do the finish on a raw wood guitar blank? Dye color, grain filler, sealer, lacquer?

Looks great! I really enjoy watching you work and how you handle difficult areas. Do you think there will be an issue with that crack running where the bridge would have to go? Like do you think the wood would split? I am surprised you didn't attempt to fill it before staining, but I have zero experience with this sort of thing; maybe you were more concerned about the dye not absorbing after filling the cracks more than the possibility of splitting. What would you recommend to the winner to avoid that from happening when it's time to drill for the bridge (or if any other cracks run into other places where holes may still need drilling during the build process). I'm just curious. Ty for the answer in advance!

Is ziricote easy or hard to dye? I ask because I never saw a dyed ziricote droptop.

First off, great video, and great work! I have just a couple questions. 1) where do you get your bodies from? they always look so stunning even pre dye. 2) when filling in Flamed maple cap, you would normally go black then sand back and apply the color you want as your primary. In theory could you do a purple fill, sand back and then apply the color of choice? purpose being the flame would be purple. Again, thank you for all the great content!
