This speaker is amazing, by the way. Love how you did the front with the contrasting wood and texture. I liked, subscribed, and added it to my BT speaker builds playlist!

You could also put 2 active speaker and the passive ones in the back panel. Nice project

Man good work, I'm impressed. Great simple, funtional, classy looking speaker.

Very very nice built! The housing looks superb and the drivers you used were good too. Usually you just see amateurs throwing in cheap speakers and random parts into a box and then calling it a speaker. But you did a very professional job!

It is a nice looking speaker. You have some amazing wood skills. I really like the front baffle. I would just like to point out, in order to properly use a passive radiator you need at least double the volume displacement (xmax * SD). That ND driver has massive amount of volume displacement, thanks to Dayton having a generous amount of x-max to that speaker (Go Dayton!). However, that means you will need at least 2 of those passive radiators and maybe even 3 to properly tune.
@davidbarros75016 жыл бұрын
hey Toid, i've been watching your videos for a while. it'´s nice to see you comment on other projects as well. This speaker looks nice but if i understand correctly you are saying that the driver used is not the ideal for this type of small builds. right?
@bechtelaudio46146 жыл бұрын
Dude, this speaker is a work of art. Why would you do all that work, glueing, sanding, perfect hole boring, staining, rouder work only to cover the side walls with cheap veneer? Other than that, this project is off the chain! Great work!
@uncledope776 жыл бұрын
I agree with your assessment on the build. It would have looked better & be more durable. With real wood veneered sides. But can't use that poly glue to do it. Also I would have put 2 speakers in it. 2 passive radiators as well. To better use the amp. Or bought a mono Bluetooth amp. That being said I still like it.

nice build but in my opinion, put two radiators at the botom of this case and two same dayton audio speakers on the front....with this architecture you have an nice bass and stereo quality sound ;)

Nice idea. However, passive radiators should never be placed down-firing. They will end up sagging, which will in turn change their tuning frequency.
@sethh88926 жыл бұрын
123Toid their tuning frequency really doesn't matter because no one gives a shit about tuning frequency at this size... name one person that actually Tunes the boxes in these videos. Yeah. The only time you're going to have people that are truly tuning boxes are people that are building bigger subwoofer boxes or people that do this for a living
@HumbeTX6 жыл бұрын
great work! how much play time do you get out of that battery and the amp? lets say half volume! thanks
@MickyRalte6 жыл бұрын
well, it last very long. I didnt play long. like less than 1 hour a day may be, in that i recharge after maybe 10-15 days interval.
@100bsl5 жыл бұрын
The speaker box is a work of art. Unfortunately, the sound isn't. The left and right woofers should have been separated with their own chambers and own tweeters. The passive radiator is too small for a speaker with 4mm Xmax. If not, the resulting sound will be tinny as was heard in the brief clip.

For this mix, the sound of your machines is too loud. The track with the saws should have treble reduced and even better, lower volume and add reverb. Still, it was great to watch this. But I think ultimately the sounds of the tools got in the way of this meditation piece. Include the sounds, just submerge them, like a dream.

You spend all that time building a beautiful front panel. Then you build a nice box out of what I guess is MDF and you wrap it in wood effect paper?! Why not just make the rest of the box out of a nice wood? I really don't understand that. 😕
