Completely got me through what I thought I was going to have to spend thousands on at the dealership (no warranty). Thank you for this video and all of your thorough instructions. The only thing I will add is that when I got to the E18 socket needed on the rear brakes (that neither me nor any of the local auto stores near me had) a 14mm socket worked perfectly as a substitute.

Just did all 4 wheels on my 2.0 Giulia yesterday. Took me all day (I made to two runs to auto parts store to pick up a few items, like grease and the pin punch which is needed). All went well except now I have several faults on the instrument cluster so I'll need to see how to reset these. The dealer here wanted close to $1,200 just to do the rears! Your video was very helpful!

Yes this will save you quite a bit of money. If you have a Bluetooth old reader connected to MultiScanECU app on your phone you can reset the codes yourself. You can also use the ecu code reset method that is in a video on KZbin. Takes a few tries but works. i had zero codes when i did mine

Best step by step video ever! My dealership asked me about $3200 to replace brake and rotor on a car that has only 36k miles. seeing the video it looks straight forward so i will do it myself. (I'm handy guy with good mechanical engineering background ) my only concern is do i need to have reset the ECU after the repair? i cant even replace my oil on my Giulia because i can't reset the light.

Great vid. Just to add. You can turn the ignition off when doing the rears. When built up just pop the ignition on and go back into the brake service menu. No need to bleed the brakes either as you haven’t opened the system. I’d only bleed the brakes if it was due

Can you expand on why We shouldn’t bleed the brakes? I just changed the pads only, when i pressed on the pistons, a little fluid came out of the (master cylinder?) in the hood which i took the cap off for. Not sure if i need to bleed the brakes. The brakes don’t bite right away when i break, is that normal for the alfas?

For anyone doing this job, do yourself a favor and before you do anything make sure you can remove the pins. I spend 4 hours using whatever I could find to bash that pin through. Ive been working on cars for a long time, Ive never had anything so seized up. Northern state that the roads use salt if that matters during the winter. I tried everything from torching it, penetrating spray. Once you get it out so far you have to put something in front of it then use a cut off allen key through the hole to hammer the pin the rest of the way through. Otherwise easy brake job once you get the pin out

You shouldn’t keep the cap off the reservoir for too long. Brake fluid is hygroscopic meaning it absorbs moisture from the air very easily. This will decrease the boiling point of your brakes and can lead to insufficient braking performance. Be careful.

Yea now that's confirmed I'm switching to that size when my tires wear out. That size has a nearly an identical load rating and it looks much better wider. Any trouble rubbing on U turns etc.. I was looking at those Firestone Indy 500 tires they get great reviews. LOL cant afford the Michellin Man
