Alfa recommends removing the caliper carrier to hub bolts on the rear side of the disc rotor rather than the high torque caliper to carrier bolts that were removed in this video. Their reason is that this maintains the parallel alignment between the caliper and the rotor which is important for even pad wear. The bolts on the rear are also a much lower torque and easier to remove and retorque correctly. Torque values from Alfa workshop manual: Disc retaining bolt 10 to 15nm. Brembo caliper to caliper carrier bolts (the ones removed in this video) 152 to 168nm. Carrier to hub bolts (ones on the rear side and the recommended ones to remove) 100 to 110nm. New blue thread lock needs to be used after removing old thread lock from bolts with small wire brush. Use only 'standard' thread lock that allows removal with hand tools Do not use permanent thread lock that requires high heat to remove.

Do you need to bleed the system after you’ve changed the discs and pads?

If your fluid is more than 2 years old then yes. Good piece of mind knowing that it is all new

Hello Eddy, I want a 4 screws caliper, where can I get it?
@tarekkoshha18634 ай бұрын
You call them big caliper mounting bolts

Best to get from an Alfa dealer. Make sure you ask the parts person for a discount. They usually will do it.

Will watch this later as I need to do this on my ‘14 cloverleaf. Where are you from might I ask? Yeah you sound Canadian or American but I swear you guys never got the giulietta?

I’m a Canadian living in Australia 🇦🇺. It messes people up all the time with my videos, especially my jeep videos because it is RHD and most viewers are American

What is the NM torque of the disc and caliper?
@TheEddysGarage2 жыл бұрын
It is at the end of the video. Looking at the forums I found the Caliper bolt torque is 135-145nm. Seems high considering our Porsche Boxster with similar calipers is 80nm but that’s what I found on the Alfa Giulietta forums.
