Karwath Kustoms Reloading

Күн бұрын

This video is to help with some questions that I had on how the hopper was done, feeder drum, etc.(7.7 jap brass was used in the video) Hope this may help answer some questions for those that asked. In all its a okay design make and to anneal brass, I will be making a new design for better feeding, easier to build and hopes in to cut cost some. I will share when I'm done with the project..keep an eye out for late summer late fall of 2017 to see if I have it out by then, I have not designed or started the project yet...Thanks for watching

nice unit, I would just add a couple adjustable feet to the front to overcome the case taper. I am thinking of an automated annealer with a drop through and inductive heater. Not sure what your using for motors and controls, but if you used steppers and controllers with an arduino, you could program it to only drop a round on the ramp right after the drum had accepted the previous round. and control the time they are annealed as well.

Just thought for the hopper, if you use some threaded rod in 4 of those bolt holes with a spring and washer to push back on some plexi, you could then adjust in and out with a wing nut or something for different length cases.

one thing I didn't mention on the black feeder drum is, the reason I machined out slot towards the rear is that drum was made to be universal for 223 and up without differnt drums needed so the slot is to allow cases to sit flat that have rims such as 7.62x54r, 8x50, 8x56r and so on.

I hope you’re still out there. Just wondered if you made the wheel at the bottom of the hopper or did you buy that off the shelf? If you made it what did you make it out of?

Hi, I'm still here. Just haven't made any videos lately...As for the part, I made it, and the material used was Delrin Plastic

Why couldn't you use one motor and controller and use a small size chain and cog drive so everything would stay in time?

the sensor you have as a counter. I noticed one guy had that to activate the feeding drum. can you do yours as double duty? Great job by the way. look forward to your next project

Eric Koechling I am no electronics in no way, I have been asked this before and tried to do it. Hard to explain in text but all I could get was if I had speed control at full speed it would work but if the pulse was turned down which I believe changes motor frequencies then I couldn't get it to work..I can only suggest that you contact them and see if they will be willing to give you info on how the did it..my 12v electical experience all comes from wiring harleys and or customs..sorry I can't help you on that question.

What is the measurements for the depth on the drum for the 308 draws and the drum for 223. Also the size of the cutout in the drum would be nice

Thank you again for sharing. Looking at the picture of the inside assembled unit, included in the drawings, there is something like a power distribution unit not listed in the parts list. There is the power supply but what is the unit sitting to the left when you look at the open back on the bottom of the cabinet? Can you tell me what it is?

If it's the one I'm thinking of it's a small power unit to run the fans and prox sensor/counter

Would leaning the whole unit back on a 5 to 10 degree angle fix the problem of cases falling out of the hopper? Would this cause other issues?
@KarwathKustoms
@KarwathKustoms 7 жыл бұрын
Rodger Anderson it does lean back but to much can affect the feed down the ramp to the annealer drum. reality is the highly it's stacked with slight taper in cases it soon will overide the offset in the cabinet. I will be designing a different style annealer when I get time and share it but I have some custom bike builds to get out of the way first..maybe this fall if all goes well.

@@KarwathKustoms answers my previous comment on leaning the whole thing, you could also add more taper to the top of the cabinet while leaving the face with the ramp closer to vertical. Obviously there are many ways to deal with the issue, and it will take some experimenting to find the solution that works best.

Hi, I'm in the middle of building one of these, but I can't get hold of the black nylon wheel that transfers the brass from the hopper. I presume it's nylon? Could you give me the details you used in your internet search to find this type of item? Also, could you give me it's width, depth, and center hole diameter. I'm in the UK. Thank-you in advance. J.
