Everyone knows that the most expensive thing to renovate in a house is the kitchen, and after going through renovations in every other part of my home, I decided to live with my kitchen as is until I can afford to change it exactly how I want. But that doesn’t mean I can’t make it look cute while also saving some money! Using a whole lotta Benjamin Moore paint, some DIY cushions for my cozy dining nook, some spray paint for like-new handles, and updating an ugly chrome breakfast bar with some paint and plywood, I turned my ugly lime green early 2000’s kitchen into a cozy neutral mid century modern space. Doing small updates like painting the tile, hanging a new pendant light, adding in thrifted finds and switching out a doorknob really pulled together my theme of sage green, white, natural linen and matte black, and helped me stay on my smaller budget. I’m so happy with how my kitchen makeover turned out, it makes this space so much more relaxing and just shows that you don’t need to completely redo a room to make it match your style and feel brand new!
Thank you to Benjamin Moore for being my paint sponsor and to Delta for being my fixture sponsor.

Arielle: I love that too. Sometimes it is wise & necessary to work with what you have. I had to do that with my yellow jet tub. Master bath accents are yellow, red & black accents with grey walls & white cabinets. This master bath turns out to be most people's favorite room in my home. I love how she made the lime green work.

I don't *think* you've done this before--would you guys maybe do a basics video on electricity/light fixture attachment?
@topherjoe1
@topherjoe1 3 жыл бұрын
That may be a liability for them. What you do is undo your fixture and WITHOUT undoing the wires, take a picture of the wire connections. Then you connect the new fixture as it shows in your pictures. I have done many, many simple fixtures but one ceiling connection I forgot to take a picture of the connection and it was all over. I came back to it about an hour after I had disconnected and had already forgotten how the 60 year old wire connections were connected to the modern fixture that was only about 5 years old. I watched about 20 videos online and then just left it. I still have not called in an electrician. I just nutted it off and keep forgetting about it since it's not my room lol.

TheSorryGirls a cool thing I saw in tiktok was spray paint the cones out giving a marbled effect and someone used it on their kitchen counters. I’ll see if I can find it and tag you guys to see if you’re interested!

@@sadbhmoran6970 That's why I said to each there own. It would have been more practical to paint the countertop and she said that she wanted black lights and accents but painted the handles gold confusing?She can do what she wants but when you put out something on utube,Twitter tic tock or another platform you shouldn't be surprised that people have another opinion. That is why there is a comments section if she doesn't want comments she can turn it off.

Love how you transformed the dining nook in stages, going from round, to bigger round, to oval to pedestal. That is how it is in real life for most people, I think. Looks great! Love that Becky helped you and sewed the cushion covers and love how well you blended the pendant light. What primers and paints did you use to paint the backsplash and would that work in a shower area or chip and peel pretty quickly?

You guys inspired me to redecorate, my husband and I got married 2 years ago and we moved in to an apartment, but we just accepted random furniture from family because we couldn’t afford anything, which means nothing really matches. But I’ve been watching your videos and now I’m taking on the challenge! We can’t afford a lot, so mostly things are getting refinished (with my father in law’s help) and painted, but plants, a cohesive black, white, dark wood, and light reddish wood scheme plus some plants and it’s starting to look awesome. :) Thanks TSG!!

Love the dining nook! Also-just treat the stainless steel appliances like a neutral. It's totally fine to have other metals in there that aren't silver. The appliances don't count the same as decor. :-)
