My husband also has the thing where he wants to save certain things that he's worn and use them again before washing. After huffing around about it for a few years I just started giving him a hook on the back of the bathroom door. It's called "worn once" and it works great to keep the stuff neat and tidy. We've made it 30 years now and compromise is a big part of that!

I have a pretty yellow kitchen. It's a weird color like a golden yellow with a touch of orange. I love love love it. On hot days it's bright and fun, in spring it's pretty with the bright green trees. During autumn it fits right in with the touches of yellows, browns and reds, and during winter it's so warm nod inviting. Needless to say I cannot get over how much joy the color brings. Same goes for my living room, it's almost a pink clay looking color but as soon as the color was put up in the house it just gave so much warmth and peacefulness to the space. Before my entire house was white and I never liked it because the space is too big it made it cold, even the smallest mess made it look awful. Now even when it's messy it never bothers me. Color in a home brings so much depth and charisma. I'm especially loving all the wonderful earth tones. All my relatives were shocked at the colors I choose (I'm actually a less is more, minimalist type person) but all said that the colors just worked so wonderfully well. I'm looking forward to redoing my room room, but unlike the rest of my home the room does remain white, this is where my best ideas come from, the one space I must not clutter is my thinking space.
