Pick up some cheap welding clamps, (vice grip style but way bigger and deeper) super quick way to clamp your grinder or vice to the bench for temporary use.

I would of just welded the cutout back into the hole haha. Ahh well, at least it will be custom even with a template! I've been getting out into my garage a lot more this summer, picking a way little bits at my project. Thanks for the motivation Kyle!

I’m going to send you a C-clamp for that grinder, that would drive me crazy. I use them vice grip clamps to the table for a lot of that stuff.

Yep they make special paper to cover glass so it shouldn’t pit but it’s easy enough to toss a blanket over that area

Mount your grinder or make a pole stand with a heavy base so you can still move it but be stable enough to use properly.

Are you doing like a under engine cross over tube from driver to passenger to tie into the passenger log? I ask because Hooker makes a turbo log that does exactly what you are building and would save you lots of hours of fabricating. I enjoy building my own things but with the more hours I am working the less time I have to do what I enjoy so I end up buying them in order to finish the projects at a decent time. Those 3D prints are sick btw!

Nado I have my crossover running under the car in between the trans and engine. It keeps from melting everything under the hood and keeps under hood temps down more. I did wrap my rack and pinion to protect it from heat.

@@Turbogto_guy yeah I did that to my camaro back in 2005 but with stock manifolds. Built a merge on passenger side in order to keep everything stock location and AC. Back then there werent many options like today

Dude' plz put a guard back on the angle grinder. Mount your bench grinder on your far left & vise on the right. Put your angle grinder in the vise so you have two free hands. Trust me. All that time on prep that your spending will be cut down tremendously. Maybe even shovel out another $40+ on a second vise for your welding table too, or just one that you can maneuver around.

Where's your new weldinG-apron?🍑 😅 Big ups to you for putting in some serious shop time on an actual work day.👍 You can totally salvage the "huh-oh", but knowing you, you'll probably just re-do it. The 3D printed coping jig parts are very cool. I have a suggestion for Blacksheep Industries (if he's reading this) to improve the design. He could "key" the pieces like a puzzle, or v-notch, etc. so they will only fit together one way to prevent what happened to you. Otherwise, great DIY tools!💚 Cheers, dude. #teamraceteam🙌

Theoretically wouldn't you need to support the turbo on the actual engine so when it flexes it and has room to move with it..

SRAD_AJ _ : exactly.. I’m sure that’s why he’s re-doing this, along with that. Pretty obvious that mounting a turbo to the frame(and engine) would result in a massive failure... like others have mentioned, it should never be looked at as a failure. It’s a quality learning experience. Thankfully there’s guys like this one who isn’t embarrassed to post these videos sharing his experiences with the rest of us.
