Hello Andy I’ve just watched your video and how you have set your fishroom up which is a credit to you and just goes to prove we don’t need a large garage or basement to enjoy our fish or it cost us a fortune to run especially in these difficult times with energy cost being what they are !! I’m just in the process of having some much needed building work done and once finished I will be coming into the hobby I want my fishroom to be around the same size as your own , fully insulated including the floor and I do like the heating the room idea so something I shall be certainly trying 👍. Most of the coldest bits of winter will be a few degrees above freezing with a few odd snow days. A lot warmer than most places at our latitude.

@eoj4553 жыл бұрын
Very clever 👏 👌 what temp do you heat the shed to? Cheers, Joe
@andywoodscichlids29423 жыл бұрын
I've not a clue. I keep my eye on water temp not room temperature. I'll turn my heater up after a water change, then right back down again once all tanks have stabilised. Once stabilised the heater is set just high enough to keep everything good trial and error. I just keep checking water temp. Smaller the air space the more economical it is. So the more tanks you cram in the better.

Mine is very old, picked it up for £5 at a car boot sale. I have seen new 650w rads for sale on occasions. Mine keeps things warm with the thermostat set at 50% of max. The more tanks you can squeeze into the fishroon the more efficient it is. Little air space more water. It can take I wile for all tanks to reach temp, but once there. They help keep the room warm to.
