Why do so many people put so much effort into building a home then to install a temporary composite shingle roof?

Are these plans available to get a copy. Wanting to build a cabin just like it. Maybe you could give a longer clearer view of the prints?

How much did that cost to build?

They said they figured it was around $20,000 for the materials, don't know what they paid for labour.

@@dylanj8676 There is no way they spent only 20k in materials. People spend that much building a garage. I would guess at least double that, 40k easy.

@@dylanj8676 That's where I assumed you got the info, I just find it very hard to believe. Lumber, roofing, flooring, insulation, plumbing, electrical, interior, windows, doors, hardware etc., I would love to see their actual material list.

@@PimptatoPCs If they did have that budget, my guess is a lot of non standard OSB was used, recycled insulation (or just not very well insulated), leftover materials from other projects, and costs like plumbing and electricity installation weren't included (I think it costs a few thousand each for each of those). I would actually love to see a list too, because these cheap housing builds could really help people in tough spots financially, or people who just want to own a house without having to pay a huge mortgage, though the cost of land is pretty significant too especially in cities. Edit: Maybe it's wooded property and they, or the contractor, owns a milling machine.
