Love is very difficult because it requires self sacrifice. Love is very fulfilling because in the very most extreme situations the sacrifice might have been great in anothers' reality but inside the mind and feelings complex it was all ego letting go of the lesser important things. Until at last, freedom in the last breathe is earned and the life is laid down for others to walk onward into time, into history, into.. The everlasting "I Love You"! Appreciate your will, the ways presented. Keep on, same ol' good. -Nick

We bought a cheap tarp and stretched it over the entire floor. It helps keep the snow and rain off the floor, so there is less warpage and damage. We set the walls right on top of it. By the time you sheetrock, it is pretty worn, but when the mudding is done, you cut around the walls, roll it up carefully, and you have a nearly perfect subfloor to do whatever you want. Just in case you ever do another one.
@MBFModernHomesteading2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, happy to hear it works for you; we know that some folks do that and works for them. We tried it years ago once and in our opinion was nothing more than a safety hazard, and annoyance chalking lines, etc. Not sure if you noticed but our floor was not regular osb but was 'stabledge' flooring; basically a weatherproof osb. We would have never left normal osb out in the elements like we did this one. We will continue to use the weatherproof osb moving forward, at least if we will be building with it under weather for any length of time. Look it up in case you ever build again, its awesome and you don't have to slide around on a tarp all day ;) . Thanks for stopping by and all the best to you and yours :)

Really very nice job and a perfect example for my future plans. Currently we live in an off-grid wooden self-built house in Portugal, but we are 62 years old and want to buy a smaller piece of land and do the same as you did, when we are getting older the land we have now is too much (1.5 hectares) and the new piece is 2.000 square metres and close to the village with all possibilities to connect to the grid very close-by. The house will be hugely inspired on this video of yours, congratulations; it's awesome!

Hey Guys I love what you are doing. That being said I would want two additional rows of support seals under the floor the span looks to be about 12 foot from center floor joists to the outside joist. That's not exceptable in the south.
@MBFModernHomesteading2 жыл бұрын
Hey David, thanks. Everything is correct in the floor build; we are running 2 x 8 joists not even 10' across from one beam to the next. The width of the building is only 20' wide with 3 beams, one in the middle and one on each side. If you check out a joist span table which is easy to find on the internet, you can see that it is plenty. It would be acceptable in your area also, probably just hard to tell when watching the video. All the best. Have a good week!
