DIY Built Rabbit Cages - BETTER Than You Can BUY!

Joat designs and fabricates cages for the highly anticipated arrival of 2 beautiful White New Zealand Does. These cages are constructed to be stronger than any cage you could purchase in any store and are designed to easily make replacement parts when/if they are damaged. The entire process is described from beginning to end and is the start of the Meat Rabbit Project. A follow up video will be released early next week with updates on their arrival as well as the set up of the Bunny Bungalow.

I recommend everyone try rabbits at least once. They are a great clean meat and require very little upkeep compared to other live stock. I am not real big on chickens because they can be loud and require a lot of space. Thank you for checking it out.

What is the diameter of the thick wire pedestal cage?

They are 24"x24"x24", to keep it easy. Since the wire comes in 24" wide rolls, you only have to make the one cut. I put all of the details in the video, but if you can't find the answer there, please feel free to ask.

That wire is super expensive. May cost more to build.

It is a little pricey but I was able to get 2 full cages and a half of a cage built out of 1 roll. The half inch wire was primarily used for floor only to make it easier for them to walk on. So it lasted a lot longer

That cage is way to small and unsuitable for any rabbit.

Sorry you feel that way. They worked really well and they had plenty of room to move and play. Even had a couple of moms with their kits in them, until we checked genders and separated them out. Maybe they just look small to you in the video?
