Great video Brandon. Man that cap has a serious learning curve.. I found that a pair of needle nose pliers works best when you just latch on to that protruding X casting on the cap. And guys don’t forget to tighten the screws back to 53 in lbs ✌🏼

Seems to be the thing to do is change the filter every oil change. Simple enough to do on your own. And I agree not taking to a dealer. The chief engineer said driving down the road does the same thing as the flush.
@Brandonsgarages2 ай бұрын
@@A1rwolf_Corvette yes sir that is the plan from here on out. Especially since my warranty will likely void soon.

Also please remember that you loose about 6-7oz. A f fluid - it a big deal with first DCT filter change but with 2nd or especially 3rd change you would want to top off your fluid - unless you added an extra 1 qt of transmission fluid already ( which is “shouldn’t be need with the new case for 2024 Z06 like for the 2023

@@billmiller8782 you are right bill . I am going to add a quart on my next filter change !
@joeR0072 ай бұрын
Nice job! Did you add fluid?
@Brandonsgarages2 ай бұрын
@@joeR007 no I will on the next oil change as I’ll do filter again. I think you lose 8 oz with each filter change and the z gets the extra two quarts so I’ll add a quart on next filter change.

Can you please elaborate on your home version of flushing the DCT fluid prior to filter change? You said you had the car on the rack, in drive and maintained 2k RPM for a few minutes. Was your other foot on the brake so the rear wheels weren't spinning on the lift? Thank you!~

Next time use a pair of needle nose pliers to rotate the cap to loosen - this will make it easier to remove to access the filter
@Brandonsgarages2 ай бұрын
@@billmiller8782 I did try that but the ones I had didn’t bite well enough and I was worried about scarring it and that being used against me should there be a dct issue. Not that my warranty will be valid anyway once I spray but until then.

@@jamesh1641 good point. I’m not sure if the cover itself has any threads in it but would give some leverage points. The way I had to rock it was very annoying I attribute it to first time off I suspect subsequent times being a lot easier

@@NYCz06 no sir I think you lose 6-8 ozish . I will be changing this filter again on next oil change and that will put it at basically a quart low and I’ll add a quart on next change. I did not add any on this one. I’m assuming factory did fill to full as they are suppose to w the z06.
