Personally i would leave the smaller aero caps alone just to hide those ugly holes behind.

As soon as he took the first one off to reveal the holes I was like 😒⛔ I think I would actually leave them all in but paint the wheel a different color, maybe a *slightly* brighter silver ??

Leave the smaller pieces in place to hide the holes, they still look good like that. I took my covers off the first day I got my M3P and have no marks on the rims.

the front 5mm spacers should be placed so the lugs go through the narrow cut out of the spacer, not the larger cut out. pictures on the Model+ website show it this way. not sure how much that really matters though once wheels are properly torqued.

@@embenuts the company actually sent me hubcentric fronts so I replaced those . The new fronts are much better

@@dbmracing2019 my buddy brought his new Mustang by and that’s the first thing he did was wheel spacers and I’m not talking small ones like 15/20mm ones to get flush

@@omarrahman2815 agree. I wish I could lower but my wife already drags entering garage. That’s the one thing I prefer about the model s is the air suspension. (For height reasons not performance reasons)

Do you think the "Wheel Gap" looks worse with the spacers On or Off ?

"Nothing we can do, the marks are their in the first place". Wrong, when you pop the aero covers the spring pushes the plastic clips against the rims so hard that it scratches them. See Out of Spec Detailings guide and you will see his method wont produce any marks.

@@jorenvillano23 I’ve seen the vid he still had marks, the same marks I had from the tabs. I had some that were created from removal but the tab marks were already there long before I removed. There will be marks regardless of the method from movement, debris between the tabs if you have any kind of miles on the wheels. Perhaps on a brand new car sure you can avoid that part but anything w any miles and use is gonna have marks it’s just physics . An area touching an area w vibration and dirt will over time create friction creating marks. So I will agree there is a better removal method but disagree that if you run the aero covers for any length of time and do that removal procedure u will not have marks on the wheels. My m3P has 15K miles on it already. Thanks for the comment

@@ericn3221 my lift jack has rubber jack puck extension so it’s the same thing as a puck. My impact I’ve used on all of my 9 cars and it consistently hits 125 ft lbs verified via digital torque wrench.

Inpromise Im not daying this yo be a YT troll, Im saying this to help your channel. You seem cool and your video is high quality. BUT.....the moment I saw you take those wheel covers off with no research beforehand, you lost credibility for me. I did finish the video, because i did want to see how those spacers looked ultimately. But there is a plethora of videos showcasing issues of removing those covers without understanding them. Causing many scratches to the wheel as well, not including throwing those plsttic pieces all over the place. I hope that comes off as constructive? By the way, beautiful family and loved that your daughter said "aeros."

@@hutchrt0596 appreciate the feedback. I will say I have seen a few forum write ups on removal and they all seem to use plastic pry tools albeit L shaped ones w more pry less push. I have seen where the aluminum spring loaded backside pieces were cut to remove tension but this effectively destroys the cover. That being said no I did not really look into them prior to attempting removal aside from seeing the two hand pull method when researching the car prior to purchase.

It’s their entry model so at the price point I personally don’t think it’s bad. I have a model s too and although the interior panels are nicer the overall fit and finish isn’t.

i disagree, build quality now on a par with vw and quality of interior materials is better. And re no style, understated is the language, if your looking for boy racer look elsewhere
