I was so happy that you have abused the the bicycle of your kids 😂 Lifting the canoe down stairs was alright but all the way back to our car…..oh man…..I‘m sure without a beer break every 20 meter it would be pure suffering😅, thanks for sharing this great series with us, hope after all this effort you‘ll have many happy time on the water with you canoe, take care my friend and have a great weekend, Taro

Oh my Felix if ONLY we could believe this to be your "last" episode of "cheep" canoe. I mean, once you think "gee I can use cardboard" and "gee I can water proof the cardboard with marine varnish" and finish that with "gee I can then use final covering of varnish soaked fabric to be sure it is good and strong" and then yup you now what we all know, this will not be the last one :D

I enjoyed this series very much! Thank you Felix! For stability of the canoe, how about one or two removable outriggers like they use in the Pacific Islands and Hawaii? These could be easily assembled/disassembled for transportation. Also would be light weight. Just a thought for a low budget solution.

A solid axle will solve the problem. Build your frame over the axle and pull the canoe with the paddle. A simple arrangement of U shaped bolts will hold the axle. The paddle bracket on the bow of the canoe could be something imaginative and fun. A small carved Viking dragon? Love the idea of upgrading the canoe until you have the best version, then build a second with what you've improved. 👍 😃

Nice work Felix. I think you could sturdy the whole thing up with a steel bar about 12-15mm diameter (or to match the receiving diameter on the wheel to act as an axle and attach to your frame to bear the majority of the weight in transport. You can still make it a break-down model that way. Maybe attaching a floor within your frame would add more frfame stability and capacity. Love your videos Felix.

Totally giving me ideas. Like houseboat ideas. Popular mechanics ideas. I assume the idea could be scaled and multiplied to make pontoons. With a pony truck underneath. I’d bet it could be amphibious. I’ve seen some turn bicycles wheels into paddle wheels or even propellers. Especially what you have made is simmer in design to a Roman barge. Lapped planks with no caulking. The Romans used tenon joints to fix things together. I bet you could use screws spaced 250mm- 300mm apart in pre-drilled holes no glue needed. Oh and this guy kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHfLn6dpf7qogpo. Might just give you a few ideas.

I am thinking that a length of threaded rod, (Also called "Allthread") running thru the frame, from one side through the other, with ends sticking out to act as axles, for the wheels, would add stability and alignment. On another issue, I bought the large SAK, with wood scales. I love the larger blade and, especially, the longer saw. I would like to be able to mount a tweezers and toothpick, and, even one of those ferro rods that fit in the toothpick slot. Could I talk you into showing me how it might be done? It sounds like something "right up your alley" as we say here.
