W0w, I wish I had the money to buy all the ingredients to do that. It's looks s0 delicious that my mouth watered just looking at it. My Noa' used to coerce me to cook growing up. I told her if she buys me a duck. I'll make that before I do another turkey for the holidays. Never thought she'd take me up on it. She did. An now I'm making it a point to roast one every year. 😋 She don't like duck. Maybe when I make it like this. She will;)!

Next time i have a free month with nothing to do I am going to make this. Or maybe I'll just go buy one at the Chinese BBQ Shop and save myself 29 days 23 hours..... for the same results. Just kidding. Your instructional was very well done because you included abundant visual and verbal details. This is the most comprehensive recipe with respect to ingredients that i have seen so far.Red fermented bean curd and the red vinegar surprised me. Tried it on chicken first and the result was amazing - CRISPY roast outside, MOIST & JUICY inside. Will do the same with DUCK for V-DAY (Valentine's Day).:-)

I tried it. But had to use some substitution. No shallots so I used spring onion. No rose wine so I used Zhao Hing wine. Red vinegar was substituted with Ordinary white vinegar. I used Mi portable digital tyre pump to pump air into duck😂😂. Father ate it and complained that he was putting on weight ( and meanwhile took another two pieces...)

Hi CiCi! I made this over the weekend and it turned out exactly like the Cantonese duck from the store! If I were to do it again I may add some beet powder for color or something it’s not as red as the store brought. Either way, the flavor is 100% there! Thanks for passing on the recipe!!!

Never heard of beet powder , I am going to use red food colouring , some drops to pump up the red colour on the duck. I will try this recipe someday when I see duck on special . Take out is $35-39 for roast duck , so we haven’t eaten it much in the last two years . Thanks for the suggestion on bicycle pump! And Thanks CiCi for the video !! Question: after you marinated the duck with salt and other spices you wash that off by pouring hot water on it. Would the skin have no flavor because of this?
