If we have to buy fabric and not the shawl then how much fabric we should purchase? Like 2mtrs or 3?

If u need ur shrug to be 40inches long (like I made) then 2 meters. Coz one meter is equal to 40inches na. When u d cut 2 meter into two pieces for front and back body, then u ll have 40" for front and 40" for back body (give and take a few inches for seam allowance). Similarly, if u will take 3 meters then the length of the shrug would come out to be 60 inches. Just find a wider fabric probably 60" wide incase u need a long cape. Else 44" wide would be enough for a short cape.

There r no fixed measurements in this dear. Just eye basic things like length till knees or if u want longer then mark accordingly , open space for arms till elbows, shoulder width can be altered after u make it a little

That's maybe because u marked ur shoulder measurement at 6 but not 7.5.... And the second reason could be that u forgot to diagonally extend the length.
