Great video, Mutai. I am going to install mine soon (possibly tomorrow) and my setup is exacly the same. Well, my RF1200 / NXR is glossy black, so I will have to use a towel to lean the helmet on it during the installation :D. Thank for making this one. Cheers from Poland ;)

Woah, great vid, have this helmet on order and was worried about installing the slimpack since the 1200 isn't on their official fit list. Looks like it's not a problem. Will be referencing this when I get my helmet. Thanks a lot Michael!

@@MichaelMutai Hey just wondering why you used the boom mike instead of the corded one ... the corded one should work inside a full face helmet and the boom mike looks bulky.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
It was more of a random choice btwn the two...but i will be reinstalling the corded one to see how it performs..

Very helpful video. One improvement: instead of the short metal clip, I used the long metal clip and trimmed the two prongs that go into the helmet so that the battery pack fits closer to the edge of the helmet. This allows you to use the rubberized cover and eliminates or hides the gap from the battery and the helmet edge.
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input
@toomanybarts2 жыл бұрын
Can you remember how much you trimmed?
@makemann2 жыл бұрын
@@toomanybarts Sorry, I don't remember. I know I trimmed off a little bit at a time until it fit perfectly. Remember, you can always cut off more, but you can't add it back, so take your time. Good luck!
@toomanybarts2 жыл бұрын
@@makemann In the end I bent the short metal clip to fit and its jammed it in : it's not going anywhere! I was worried about trimming the long one and having sharp ends carving up the inner liner so went with the small.

Any concerns on the battery metal clip being dangerous in case of an accident? Seems like it might do some nasty damage to the back of your head.
@MichaelMutai3 жыл бұрын
The metal clip fits firmly btwn the helmet and the foam layers and also holds the battery pretty good.It doesnt seem like it will come out under accident scenario

Hi Michael, thanks for the video! Got everything installed but I can't get the left hand side lining back into place due to the controller. How did you manage to get round that?
@MichaelMutai4 жыл бұрын
I reinstalled the lining/padding first then the controller......It slides into the space btwn the helmet shell and the padding

Cardo units should be the EUC rider standard, considering that we do group rides MESH is definitely something to have.

Funny thing is have never seen anyone with EUC in my area.Am of the idea that walkie talkies would be more efficient for a group ride.

I just wonder why did you go for the bomstick when there was a separate mic without bom? I belive the mic tech is the same. The bomstick is needed only for half helmets and opening helmets.
