Just saw this. Made me smile. The dogs on all my repairs love to watch and check out the work, too, lol. Nice work. Only thing I would have done a bit different (for anyone watching, attempting to follow) is carefully put the insert in seam side first. This would have eliminated the glue getting on the top of the carpet, leaving a crusty residue. You also may want to take some scissors to it and blend that height difference a tad. A carpet haircut if you will. This will cut out some of the glue and make your eyes concentrate less on the seam. Just a couple pointers after your first time. Hey, awesome job. Perfect! Thanks! Ill be doing this in a couple weeks. We brought in a friend of my daughters to help her get on her feet and her cat did this to my daughters room. I also keep a sample jar of matching paint for my apartment walls so i can touch up scuffs or nail holes. Ive never lost a deposit.

Yeah my carpet is destroyed in front of my bedroom from my pet cat. About to have to do this too. I won't be renting a place with carpet EVER. AGAIN. Renting is stressful enough.

Nice job. A more flexible glue applied to the floor instead of the edges would handle that "crustiness" better. I have similar damage, but in the home I own, and plenty of donor carpet in closets.

Or if you have a few more spots to patch, take up the whole carpet in the closet and put down peel and stick linoleum squares to replace it. 😊

Put the dog outside. Barking is annoying when trying to watch. You did a great job on the carpet but should probably discipline your dog way more. It has no respect for you.

Overall great video but your dog has no training the way they're barking like that from being put in a room for a few moments. And when you give in to their barking that just reinforces their behavior. But hey, the carpet is my only problem at the end of the day.

All carpet patches and seams work should be done using CRI approved carpet seaming tape. Once the repair you done gets steam cleaned or takes on heavy traffic it will likely come apart or fray at seams from lack of proper bonding. Also should have used seam sealer.

That's not going to hold very long, didnt use seam tape. Lucky that type of carpet is very forgiving for bad seams

I have used super glue and a staple gun to patch my carpet. I have a bissell carpet cleaner I use once a month and have not had an issue so far. Been almost six months but could still eventually come up. I find the staples helped a lot!

As a tenant, you should not be hiding this from your landlord. The landlord will obvioulsy find out and for a small issue you lose all trust and probably make it worse for yourself
