I only bought and sold that vehicle. Never had another Cruze with that specific issue to troubleshoot and repair.

Did you end up finding a cat that was reputable?

Your issue might have been caused by that clamp because of leaks

what's the part # on the clamp?

Unfortunately this won't fix the P0420, will eventually come back.

will need to get a OEM cat to fix 0420 code, not enough substrate in the aftermarket cat to stop the code from coming back
@GadGetHackss8 ай бұрын
@@lbpwoody1 I kept the Chinese cat but I ended up using two O2 sensor spacers to keep the CEL off

@@GadGetHackssI did the same but ended up getting the same code and got a code of running lean as well, would I have to remove the cap from the o2 sensor spacer ??
@GadGetHackss5 ай бұрын
@@jrea8401 I'm not sure which cap you are referring to and I assume you know that it must be installed on the downstream oxygen sensor, not the upstream because it is what controls fuel trims, the downstream oxygen sensor has nothing to do with the lean condition, it's only used to monitor the catalytic converter.

@@GadGetHackss okay I’ll do that then thanks for the quick reply

It amazes me how people buy these then bitch about them not working or passing smog. Although EPA and CARB are spelled almost exactly...there does exist a difference. Cats can fail on their own, but mostly due to some issues with the vehicle. Are people that lazy that they don't do a little research before buying stuff? Then there is the issue of setting the monitors or replacing O2 sensors along with the cats. The majority of these are for temporary use not made to last the life of the vehicle.
