Lots better than the stock one that comes with the kits!!! Nice job. I just mig’d an alternator bracket for a small block Chevy on mine.

Borrowed this idea on my bike less than 10 dollars at the hardware store and some cutting, grinding, and drilling and voila- presto! Works beautifully so far, thank you Morgan, cheers m8!

Most of us here just take the dam thing off and check our chain tension and adjust when needed. Although this is a dam good tensioner for those of you that use one.

no spring? well its a chain guide or stabilizer
@gitarplayer2293 жыл бұрын
It’s still a tensioner as it applies variable tension to the chain... This is an example of a low cost way to stay safe. Springs are also great options.

If i only have knew this before trying to start for the first time my bike ..... Yesterday after installing everyting ive tried to start the engine and the chain tensiones went into my spokes and fucked up my rim. Now im so sad cant even ride the bike.... Im going to use this video as a guide to fix that problem... So sad dont even got to start the engine....

Dang that sucks. The stock design is horrible and down right dangerous. Be careful and good luck!

Definitely eliminates the possibility of getting the piece of crap stock ones sucked into your back rim,and getting almost killed!! Nice vid bud

Sir, good video! Just needs a little demonstration of the part working. NOT trying to be rude, but i had the same idea. Lynn at custom motorbikes has a great, similar arch tensioner.....but it gets expensive when you want to sell moto bikes with upgrades. IE: expansion chamber, stronger bolts, dual pull brake, better fuel -tank, rear wheel/ hub adapter, etc. I thought about using older car/ truck hood hinges as a tensioner (pick your part salvage yard) to save money, but drilling holes in it might weaken them. Regardless, thanks for the idea sir! One last thing, what type of black and decker tool was that??? I really could use that on my aluminum projects, and for cutting polycarb windows. God bless you, Morgan! Brian

Thanks for watching. The tool is called a jigsaw. Just make sure to get metal cutting blades.

@cristovao00 Thanks for watching! Ive looked at the spring options that attach to the clutch cover and they do seem nice but cost a lot more than around $7 and when the whole set up is $100 i have a hard time spending 30+ on a tensioner. Who knows though i may have to splurge and buy one some day.

Hi, I bought one of them clutch cover spring tension, but the extra space the bolts made after putting it on made my peddle hit the bolt (found out after i took out a few links to make it fit right). So after replacing my original carppy one it would never say tight and the pulley loosened and dropped it to the bottom... I am now trying your tensioner am using half a bed frame with slot and bolt holes in and thinking of using 1 hose clamp at both ends as long as they wont twist the metal
@netjunky56943 жыл бұрын
works great, thank YOU for putting it out there.. different piece of metal but same result. Might be able to put that useless spring arm on the same way just with the metal strip on the out side of tubes

also when you line up the motor brackets it positions it correctly.

Gerald Mardling level the frame w a big level and secure it then mount the motor semi tight and level the side cover and that should get u real close!

Genius nice ideia thanks! you should try to make one with a spring they are 5*

Why not bolt it to the frame and shim the pulley. I agree it's better but be more sturdy bolted to the frame Guy
@gitarplayer2294 жыл бұрын
Eddie May thanks for the suggestion. I didn’t want to put holes in my frame. I worry about that weakening the frame.

Don't do this if you want a smooth ride remove that junk and use the motor to adjust chain we are talking night and day also remove any rubber you want your motor tight no play and chain tight with no tensioner at all Trust me if you want a cadilac thats the way go ... I did 587 km in 2 days 387km in one day
