Thank you. I don't even bother with rag joints anymore, and will only use wheels made for this. And I just realized they sprokets for those wheels have the same bolt pattern as disk brakes...so this may mean we can use disk brake hubs for sprokets. And I was thinking about getting one of those spring tensioners that hang from the engine, but you got me interested in your arch pulley mount. Its beautiful. Oh, and instead of using a tool, you can use a clipped ziptie as a reference point for a ragjoint sprocket. And that ziptie can stay on, if you don't mind the look and grams of weight of it. And the air drag. I think my kit is meant for a 26x2 tire frame, but I put it on a road bike frame. So I had to mount the engine tilted to the left, to keep the pedal from hitting the exhaust. Making my pulley work more complicated. I don't have the money right now for a different exhaust, or a torch to bend the one I have now. I'm just gonna put my bike in my stand, spin the wheel, and figure it out. Things should be easier, because I have a 41 chain. Thanks again.

Me gain Mr Hughs….. Have you ever used the sprocket instead of the nylon roller for a chain tensioner? I got rid of my stock tensioner today. Welded an alternator bracket between the seat stay and the chain stay. Works great, won’t come loose. But I was wondering if the sprocket was any better as far as durability? Thanks again sir! Yea, I think I'm gonna stop riding mine for now for this reason. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the sprocket centered up to stop that noise and tension issues. The chain also seems dirtier than normal and it's new. I'm probably just gonna spend the money for the hub adapter type and a spring loaded tensioner.

Hi im christy very new to the 2stroke bicycle scene and first my bike the back tire would freeze up an I couldn't push forward at all and one day I it happened while I was going a good speed locked up an I felt like I was going to whip out luckly thanks to my excellent cat like reflexes I was able to use my skills to save the bike and myself. It was hot like 95 degrees central Florida heat an this riverwalk had no shade I was dreading my 13 mile walk dragging this heavy ass bike that was starting to drive me nuts! Here I go trying to make it to grass off of the asphalt picking up the back end of the bike then getting tired and putting it down dragging it. I didn't get too far because the tire pops! Yup so I'm like shaking my hand up to the sky asking "when lord, when, when's it going to be my time?" (Silent Bob) I'm such a MEOW that I actually started to tear up. Telling this story an looking back on it now makes me cringe to the fact my feelings got all messed up over this bike. Then just at the moment I put my hands down after asking the lord when, this mini vanish vehicle pulls over, nice couple from The Ukraine get out. These Angel's god sent to give me a ride home with my bike, meet nice people, learn some things about The Ukraine and gave me continuous faith that God hears our prayers. Blessed. That's all she wrote folks! Oh shit I smoke a little pot while watching the video so I'm rambling my bad. POINT OF THIS COMMENT!!!...... THE VIDEO WAS TERRIFIC EVERY STEP AND POSSIBLE ISSUE IS PROBABLY CUZ I HAVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE STEPS TO GO OVER ON MY BIKE IM SURE I MESSED THEM ALL UP. SO EXCELLENT VIDEO EXPLAINED PERFECTLY AND COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE. GREAT TEACHER THANK YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW 💕Christy

I never thought I would learn engines in this life, being a girl, but now I can assemble one in a day or two. It's how I make extra money. All thanks to Mr. Hughes. brother i just did that rag joint job . it has got to be the toughest job on these little bikes . i will tell you what helped me . it was the dust cover i took my time about a hour or two and ground that down with a diamond file . as i did it i checked to see if it was going to fit in side the sprocket hole . when i was done there was one little area that dint touch the sprocket hole wall . but it was a tight fit . when i got the sprocket on there it was perfect i still had to tighten up the bolts the way they should or need to be i would tighten one then tighten the next one on the other side of the sprocket kinda like you do with lug nuts on a wheel when changing a tire on a car . my sprocket is as true as i could ever ask for . but the dust cover being nice and tight and true helped so much it held the sprocket from moving while i tightened the bolts . now im not saying its a job i want to do again any time soon but i know it will be alot easier knowing what i learned from you buddy . there was a sprocket on the bike when i bought it they had the sprocket on backwards and the dust cover was not ground down the wheel barring's were all lose . a big scrap gouge is in the coaster break arm . you could tell they dint know what they was doing . i dont know how long that back wheel will hold out but it has a better chance now then it had before . thanks to you and the fact i know how to reset barring's lol . ok well this is a real long comment sorry about that . but thanks for your videos buddy they helped me and im sure they help alot of others as well .

@@HughesMotorized thankyou man me and my dad will have to check that either way something came unaligned im assuming it's from vibration because it was vibrating pretty good and as you said and my dad also said it could be that new chain isn't wide enough for that sprocket as in it doesn't have enough play for the sprocket either way I'll check it out btw is it dangerous to drive it when it does that or could it cause the chain to weaken prematurely or possibly cause you to wipe out?
@HughesMotorized
@HughesMotorized Жыл бұрын
@@zacharysmith737 Fix it first. You should be able to grab the engine and try to move it side to side and there should be no play. With the chain removed, the rear sprocket when spinning should have no more than 1/16" side-to-side play, any more side to side than the inside of the chain and you'll have probs. Also, spin the rear wheel and see if the sprocket is centered with the axle. Put something on the bike frame that just touches the outside of the sprocket and spin without chain and see if the outermost edge of the sprocket moves back and forth as you spin it.

I am having this exact issue. And today the chain actually did derail. I knew this was an issue all along. And you're correct just because the Cog is centered doesn't mean you don't have that play from it not being level. My issue is I have one half moon where the bolts stripped out. So I cannot snug down that one half moon or loosen it. So while the Cog is doing its revolution there's that one spot where the cog goes unlevel and makes the chain Wonder. Now what I want to do is take this rim to a shop and have them install thicker spokes, true the rim and maybe even throw in some high-quality high-speed bearings. I do have a brand-new cog and brand new rubber. But I really do not want to use it until I have a suitable rim. I did have the plan to buy thos3 26-inch BBR rims from bikeberry. But I hear shipping from USA is a nightmare when it comes to bigger items that are heavier. And honestly if I could find the same rims without the Cog pre-mounted I could easily buy those rims locally or off Amazon Maybe and simply install the Cog myself. On the market though I'm not sure what those rims are called. I just know what bike berry calls his. In your opinion what is my best option? When it comes to equalling out budget-friendly with Reliance and longevity? Until then I'm going to use the same old cog that is on the bike right now. I'll cut those three bolts out, then put new bolts and then aren't stripped, without even touching the other bolts that are already in place. With any luck this will at least level the Cog a bit. And allow it to be safer to drive until I can do the rim upgrades. Because I'm just guessing but once you use the rubber and it cuts into the spokes and shapes itself, while it squishes in place it's probably pretty hard to reuse it and not have it want to slide back into the same spot it was at before. I have learned that using zip ties around the axle and the Cog Works great as spacers to centre it. Anyway I'm just looking for opinions from a guy who has much more experience with motorized bicycles then I do. Certified small engine mechanic or not these are a different Beast

@@HughesMotorized thanks for the tip. I'm in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. just fyi. In this stupid little town I live in I get picked on and attempted to be set up (they tried to plant ammo with spents on me that seem to have possibly been linked to a homicide) and it did not work. Long story short they pulled some stunt and got me locked up long enough to try and kill me. They beat me down (in the middle of the night, attacked in my sleep and only corrections officers can get into your cell at night), while doing so they tried to force me to say it did it. "Just say you did it", "F-you cops I'll go to my death before I ever admit to something I did not do", "youd gonna get slammed down again and your not gonna like it" (they tossed me off the top tier onto the concrete below, 2 times. Apx. 10' - 15' high). I ended up waking in a cell shackled babbling when I tried to talk. I then took seizures in my one puke, and all waste until I flatlined. It took a few days. The. They called an ambulance once they figured I was dead. My little bro is a paramedic he followed and ensured they saved my life. Ever since I lived I have been driven out of my places to live and U was always a good tendent, my car I used to have would get tampered with in an effort to destroy it and they drove the love of my life out if my life by attacking her and terrorizing her! Point to all of this real story? I just settled in here, built my bike so I have transportation. And surprised, I am now suddenly being evicted (well told the lease will not be renewed, same thing), my first motor had a leaky crank seal and went, (ok, crap happens) the second motor I went over top to bottom. It was running awsome then suddenly the bevel gear got chewed out of it. I saw your video where you're running one with the clutch cover off and have been running it for like 3 years like that and no issues whatsoever and I can see your bevel gear is not worn down whatsoever. ( I think it was your video anyway, maybe it was bikeberry). So the point is is they're doing something to my Motors before I even get them. I believe it's possible anyway, I do not put anything past these guys. So now I'm having trouble removing the bevel gear. The tool that came with it well it just kind of strip do you know and sometimes it does happen. But that leaves me at a loss of how to remove this bevel gear. Then the other issue is is what caused it in the first place when I put the other bevel gear back on it is it going to happen again? When I first got the motor like two tanks ago. Like I said I went over it top to bottom, I decked the head, Port matched intake manifold all that the whole shebang. One thing I did notice it's a very deep gouge in the area around where the clutch covermates to the block. And it was definitely a gouge that wasn't done from molding issues. It was definitely too deep for that. I think somehow they acquired the motor before I even got it on the doorstep and took a pry bar to that bevel gear and bent it a little bit. Or something. Because the gouge on the surface area where the plate goes to the block is Right exact area where the bevel gear would be if you put a pry bar on it. So I don't know like how unlucky I could be, coincidences are only coincidences until they're not coincidences anymore, this stuff happens to me a lot and has over the past 20 years) with the second one, where I did everything right and still something happened and this is something that definitely shouldn't happen at all, ever. Maybe wear a bit after like 5 years. Like I've seen Motors 5 years in that did not have worn down bevel gears, especially like that, to the point the teeth were skipping and slipping. So now I need help with figuring out how to get it off. keeping in mind that the factory tool that came with it is stripped now. I don't know how the threads are inside that gear are, they look a tad stripped but I'm not sure. Then maybe someone may be able to answer what could have caused that? But that's my theory as of now because I don't put anything past these guys. Anyway sorry for the long back story. This happened just in time for my Arc tensioner to arrive.😡
