DIY Clothing Labels | Handmade business hacks

DIY Clothing Label Directions:
1. I design my tags on illustrator but you can make them in pages, word or in the cricut design space
2. Start by creating a rectangle that measures 5.5"x.625"
3. Make sure your logos are 2 inches apart from each other
4. Leave at least 1/4" on one side of rectangle before adding your logo
5. Group everything in the rectangle and duplicate it 12 times with no gaps
6. Highlight all the rectangles and align them
7. Once that's done, make sure to REFLECT (reverse) the labels before printing
8. Print on fabric transfer sheets for light fabrics
9. For these labels I use a glossy ribbon that is 5/8" wide
10. Remove lint from ribbon *very important*
11. Iron the transfer sheets on the glossy side of the ribbon
12. When the paper is cool to touch, peel off sheet
13. Cut labels into 2-1/2" rectangles with the logo on one side of it
14. Fold in half and sew it into your handmade clothing!

That’s good for a quick fix but if u scratch it it’ll show, go for weaved for a longer lasting tag

Hi I advice you to buy label printer model brother pt-p300bt with satin tape which has many colors of fabric tape to choose from. It works via bluetooth with your mobile phone or notebook pc and mac ( brother pt-p710bt) It's not expensive and really easy.

Hi! I used a white ribbon, any should work - just make sure it’s the size that I showed. I used an iron to press the transfer paper onto the ribbon fabric.

Place the transfer paper face down on the cloth of choice, preferably cotton or polyester. Use an iron and press lightly for 30 seconds or so, turn the cloth around and press on the back as well. Hope that helps!

You can but I don’t, the sewing keeps it in place. Also, it would depend on the quality of ribbon.

@@adnanabdull4h I believe so, you can look up Avery transfer sheets, and I’m sure it’ll tell you what types of fabrics it can be used on! Though, fyi, I used satin ribbon and it only lasted a couple washes before peeling off.

I’m not sure but you could try using a sealing spray or mod podge to make it waterproof to last longer
