Beautiful work! I mean both machining and videography.

Where you get that DLC thread mill? Me needs it.

How much was everything to make that fixture plate? Is the aluminum stock plate 1" thick? What kind of coolant system you have? Thanks. Also does your 5 pro chatters when it comes diagonally as it moves across the CNC?

Cool editing Subbed 😉

Looks great. What bit are you using to surface the plate?
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I used Datron Edge Radius facemill.

Thanks. I'm looking at making something similar.@@Sae.Dustin

looks great , what size spindle did you use? is the tooling plate 3/4 thick?
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
The spindle is 65mm OD. The fixture plate is roughly 20mm!

@@Sae.Dustin what brand spindle are you using?, what watt spindle? along with the vfd? have any issues running it off of the carbide 3d warthog board? thanks
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
@@genek1341 I'm using the infamous "Huanyang" 0.8kw watercooled + 2.2kw vfd. Both are at 110v. I'm not running it with the warthog board. I can't justify the price of an ATC or Carbide spindle package as it is $700 for an aircooled unit. I don't mind the 2-3 minutes tool changing as the bit setter is good enough for me. Probe it once manually (you have to do that anyway) and Z-height is still there.

@mSaeh during the whole cutting operation,surfacing and boring how did the machine sound? any chatter or resonance? from the looks it came out super smooth surface finish. chatter free.seems like the so5 that are the 4x2 or 4x4 people have been complaining of a chatter- resonance through the machine when cutting aluminum
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
@@genek1341 there is chatter at spots but I don’t feel any of it. You can use coolant to reduce the visibility. The whole time my feeds and speed were very conservative since I only had 1 bit of each. But the cutting force and sound were smooth, consistent, and no awful grinding sound

New to the desk top cnc machines. Do they not offer fly cutters for these units?
@Sae.Dustin8 ай бұрын
No. You would have to source that with the manufacture or on your own

Very nice, I’m considering an aluminum fixture plate for my 2x4, but I think I’d like to completely remove the t-slots & bolt directly to the frame, (prevent losing Z height) Are you somehow drawing the thread milling path in carbide create? Or drawing/importing the file from a better program into carbide motion?
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
I do not use carbide motion as that software is extremely limited to what you can do compared to a real CAD program such as NX, SW, F360, etc etc.
@skippedlink Жыл бұрын
@@Sae.Dustin “Carbide create” is definitely limited, “Carbide motion” is still used to control the machine?
@Sae.Dustin Жыл бұрын
yes. But only at the moment. I'll switch to something else because there is one crucial feature I think it is a must for me. @@skippedlink
