DIY - Crayon Melting - Shapes

The darker the color the faster they melt. You can also melt the candles then pour into the mold. Not sure if it will help with cracking. If they heat too fast they will crack. Someone said to put them in the freezer for 15 minutes after they cool. They look so cute.

know that this comment is kind of late to the party. I think that if you are using lesser quality of crayon, that when you take it out of the oven when it is still in it's liquid form, take a toothpick and give it a quick little stir, and it should redistribute the wax evenly throughout the color again. You could also try using a mix of both a crayola and the crazy art crayons and see if that makes a difference. In all the videos i've watched it's been either a mix or all crayola.

It should burn Bc a regular crayon can burn for hours. I saw it on a life hack thing for if the lights go out.

🤔🤔I like the way they look, and think it's ok that only one side colors. I was wondering if you have ever tried melting with a wax warmer? It would take forever to do large amounts but just for a mommy and abby project?

I sit at dance practice also for one of my daughters (and soccer ⚽️ and horseback riding lessons for my other kids etc and taking paper off crayons is perfect To kill the time ) The crayons are cute They would make perfect party favor Gifts Could you make one with all different colors in one crayon Like a rainbow 🌈 crayon I wouldn’t think the brand of crayons would make difference 😀

My next ones will be rainbow. I’m going to melt each color in the pot then pour it in and let each layer set.

How do you shave the white wax off?

I didn’t. I just let the kids color with them for fun. I tried them again with crayola name brand and it didn’t have the white wax section.
