Hi Marie, I followed your tutorial and made one out of towelling. I did get confused but got there in the end. I am extremely happy with how it turned out and it fits perfectly. I am about to make another one out of flannelette which hopefully will be a bit easier.

I'm so glad it fit and that you were able to get it sorted! Sorry if it was confusing for you but yes hopefully the flannelette one will be easier. It's always good to have a bunch of changing pad covers on hand! Happy sewing

Me too, Alice is such a sweetie and all my kids are interested in helping me sew which I love. I'm looking forward to them being a tad older so I can teach them to sew too

I love the idea of this tutorial, it’s really custom and shaped exactly for a changing pad. Do you know about how much fabric would need to be purchased to make this? 30x16 is the size of the changing pad even though I know they’re all about the same size

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I'd say buy 1 yard should be fine. I wouldn't go less just in case it was a directional print where you want the pattern facing a certain direction etc. 1 yard would be slightly too much but not worth risking it with less I would think

I would love to try to make this for my first great granddaughters change table pad. I do not have the pad here at my home to measure unfortunately. Is your change pad that you covered the Vadra from Ikea by any chance? Then I could just use your measurements, which would be awesome. Otherwise I will try to get over to her home at some point to do the measuring. If there is anyone else who has made this for an Ikea Vadra change pad and has the measurements I'd be very happy if you could share them with me. Thanks.
@MyMumMakes Жыл бұрын
Sorry mine isn't from Ikea I'm sorry. I think most of them would have similar dimensions but not exact. I wonder if the Ikea website has dimensions listed?
@nanatohannah Жыл бұрын
Oh don’t apologize! There are dimensions listed but it’s more for the contoured end I need the measurements for. I’ll call my granddaughter and see if she can measure for me. Problem is she has no idea how to cut/sew/measure anything. Lol The IKEA change pad is not standard measurements. It measures 74cm by 48cm but that doesn’t take into account the contours.

Do you have any tips for adding openings in the side of the cover so that the safety belt is exposed?
@MyMumMakes2 жыл бұрын
Ours doesn't have a safety belt so I'm not entirely sure where it is placed or how big it is. Would it possibly work to make a big button hole to thread the strap through on either side?
@allisonjones9042 жыл бұрын
@@MyMumMakes That is what I was thinking about doing, but was hesitant until I asked others for their opinion. Thanks!

What width elastic did you happen to use?
@MyMumMakes2 жыл бұрын
I use 8mm wide elastic which would be about 1/4 inch. Any similar width would work fine though.
@sunshineart.20002 жыл бұрын
how long was your elastic?

Thanks for commenting. I'm not sure though I didn't measure it, I just pulled it through the casing until it was the right tension. Sorry that that isn't a very helpful answer

Hi there i watched this video multiple times, and was super confused by the sides not working out for me. Is there a way you could redo the video where it is easy to see each side, and you pinned and stitch
@MyMumMakes2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I'm sorry you were unable to do it. If you send me a video of where you got up to on Instagram or Facebook messages I'll see if I can help you. I won't be making another video on this tutorial. Each sewing tutorial video takes 15-30 hours of time to film, edit, render and upload so I don't redo topics I've already done. Sorry about that
