I love so much about your approach to having a KZbin channel. Love you breastfeeding Rueben with no fuss - exactly how we should be ‘reacting’ to feeding our Bub. I was lucky to breastfeed our son and was discreet but not embarrassed- I copped filthy looks and abuse from strangers. No skin was seen but people were upset because they knew I was feeding. I just told them my son was eating his lunch. He was a newborn. Love that you are a real mum doing real life - leave in the normal life with two bugs, your daughter was gorgeous helping you and chatting away. I love the chaos - normal mum life - it’s what we need to see instead of Insta deals. And woman, how do you look so good two weeks after having a baby? Keep sharing, keep your way of doing videos. They are lovely to watch.

This is honestly the nicest comment I've ever received. Thanks so much for taking the time to send it! It's so disappointing that people would be offended by discreet breastfeeding. I've been lucky that I haven't had any negative experiences from it but I know it's unfortunately common. I'm glad you enjoy my videos! I definitely want to share what it's really like as a mum and show the realness of the chaos. That's one of the main reasons I like starting with the bloopers to show that I'm not perfect and things go wrong for all of us. Keeping it real hehe

A tip for less seams on the large wet bag, cut the back fabric 3-4 inches longer than the front and stitch one edge to the top of the zip. Simply fold the top edge (where there would otherwise be your top seam) to line up and attach to the front piece. You were lucky to be gifted a snap press, they are so pricey! I now always find I don’t have the colour snaps I want haha
@MyMumMakes3 жыл бұрын
Yes very lucky to be gifted one, they certainly come in handy!!
@madeatbentwood3 жыл бұрын
Oh duh Michelle, don't cut a front and back piece at all! You only need 1 long piece, each end stitched to the zip. Simply fold so you're happy with the zip placement and sew the side seams. Sorry Marie, not thinking clearly this eve.

Love the product, however battled with the dimensions and reaching a filled zipped closed bag- fabric was 38cm but Zip 30cm and you showed sewing the seams over the edge of the zip 🙈 do you have a slower version where you explain the details?
@MyMumMakes6 ай бұрын
Sorry I don't have a slower version. The edge of the zipper tape doesn't have teeth so it's ok to sew over that. You need to get as close as you can to the teeth without going over them. Hi Marie, thanks for another great video. I have a question. I note you don't overlock the edges, does the PUL not fray??

Hi Julie No the PUL doesn't fray because it's essentially coated in plastic (laminated) so that keeps the fibres of the fabric together. Thanks for watching

Love this video! 😍 thank you so much! Could you please help me out tho, what kind of presser foot are you using? Are you using a teflon or a rollerfoot? I'm using the regular one because I dont have anything else (newby here) but my fabric keeps shifting places (eventhough I'm using a lot of clips) putting in the zipper goes all fine, it is the last part where everything needs to be sewn together (and the innerside of the fabric is on the outside). Any tips on what kind of presser foot, settings, needle I need to use are very welcome 🙏🏼
@MyMumMakes2 жыл бұрын
Great question, it can be slippery to sew with pul. I just use my regular presser foot, but you could try using some tissue paper under and above the project which will make it less slippery through the presser foot. Make it like a sandwich with the tissue paper as the bread and your project as the insides 😊 or you could try a walking foot if you find the tissue paper isn't working. See how you go and let me know if that's still not working.

Hello, I forgot to ask: Does the PUL need to be pre-washed? Have you noticed the PUL shrink under a wash or dry? I read they do not shrink (and the fabric store told me not to pre-wash them), but I read a couple of comments on other videos that said their PUL has shrunk under warm wash and a partial low heat dryer/air dry. Thus leaving the exterior cotton fabric uneven (because they pre-washed the cotton fabric). Some people have suggested to wash the wet bags in hot water, but I didn't think that would be wise due to the fabric content. I thought I'd ask before making the wet bags as I am following your well-done video! I never used one when my son was young (he's an adult). Thank you!
@MyMumMakes20 күн бұрын
You can't warm wash or dry pul. Just cold machine wash and then line dry. The laminate will lose its waterproof property if it gets heated too much. And no need to prewash
@bccabernet20 күн бұрын
@@MyMumMakes - that's what I thought and thank you for clearing this up for me because I hadn't heard of PUL until I saw your video. I just found your video on a search for sewing baby items and thought this was a great idea. I really appreciate the extra information. :)

I’m having so much trouble with stitches skipping when stitching the PUL. Any help?
@MyMumMakes Жыл бұрын
I'll try my best to help. Most of the time for me when stitches skip it's usually the needle that's the problem - either it's the wrong type of needle or it's a blunt one. What type of needle do you have in? Could you try changing it out for a new sharp one and see how you go? I'd go for a stretch needle or ballpoint before and a thin/small one is best so the holes aren't too large. If that doesn't work let me know and we'll try to find another solution
@chelycewatson9746 Жыл бұрын
