DIY custom shift knob from waste surfboard resin. UPCYCLE

In this video i'll show you a very straight forward way to turn your old resin scraps into something to fund your next board build.
I always have a small amount of resin left over from surfboard glassing so rather than just tip it in the trash I recycle it into car shift knobs, fin keys and other misc items to sell.

@@Shrednaught Fin keys take very little resin too so you get lots from leftovers. I'm going to do a video on how I've done them but its very simple to do.

Very cool! Can you put Poly and Epoxy resin all together in the same thing or does some bad reaction occur?

Best to keep them seperate. But I have mixed them. I haven’t got to those blanks yet so I’ll see when I turn them whether they reacted terribly.

Have you tried just tossing the birch round into the bottom of your resin cup before you pour any leftover resin in, could save yourself the gluing step

Yeh tbh the only one I glued up like this was this exact one for the video. It had a super uneven bottom. I’d normally just use 5min epoxy. But that’s a good idea 👍
