Great help this video! I couldn't find a birthday card I wanted for my father at the dollar store & since I didn't wanna check other stores because COVID I decided to splurge a little & buy one at Wal-Mart... Still no cards I liked for him... So... I came up with the great idea to make my own, the online software sucked, so your video was very helpful in creating one within Gimp! (Annoyingly I still gotta go back to a dollar store to buy card stock tomorrow....

I saved it as a tiff file like was said in this tutorial and it won't let me delete the file off my computer. I opened it up in my computer files and it shows up as a blank white page and I can't rename the file or delete it. What do I do? I just want it off my computer.

Hello! Tried to follow the tutorial with ver 2.10.18. In time 8:25 I could not get the fill colour for the logo-box. The area selected remains white. I cannot find what went wrong....what should I check?

Why did he export the files as TIFF images first and then print? Why not simply print straight from GIMP?

Hi. You gave us info on the printer you use, but...not your computer. I am in the market for a new one. What are you using?

Great tutorial! I use the program with a mac and I do not know why when I export the document to register both sides in TIF, I have nothing in the document. I suppose I am doing something wrong :'(

Assuming you have Photoshop handy, could you show how best to create good .psd files in Gimp that look perfect on Photoshop, also would be interested to see where Gimp made .PSD files fail in Photoshop?
@DaviesMediaDesign6 жыл бұрын
I'll look into this!
@tomormiston65926 жыл бұрын
An excellent tutorial ! My only suggestion would be to focus just on getting an idea into a card layout then printing, with the 'present box' a separate tutorial perhaps at the end or just pull in a royalty free temporary. Not everyone will want to do all the details the same 😉
@DaviesMediaDesign6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I considered leaving that part out, but decided it was instrumental in the card design and I think also allows people to make their own unique designs. I will add a menu so people can skip that portion if they'd like. Thanks for the suggestion!
@tomormiston65926 жыл бұрын
@@DaviesMediaDesign a menu should do the trick 🤔👍

It's a blend of hemp and recycled paper, 5x7 inch dimensions. I don't have the packaging anymore so I don't have the exact specifications on the paper.

Well.. you could just follow this tutorial, but replace the holiday text with your own thank you text. I'll look into making a separate tutorial, though.
