Charles is on an epic journey to the Galápagos on a budget, visiting San Cristobal, Santa Cruz, and Isla Isabela to see some of the most popular attractions: snorkeling in Kicker Rock, Cerro Brujo Beach, Carolina Beach and the Interpretation Center in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. In Puerto Ayora's visit the giant tortoise at the Charles Darwin Research Station and experience the full the Bay Tour, including snorkeling and a hike at the nearby Dog's Beach and Giant Tortoise Breeding Center in Puerto Villamil. Also hike the volcano Sierra Negra and getting around inexpensively and eating cheap, such as empandas and morocho.

No, you should not stay on one island because it is hard to island hop given limited ferries

Can't give you exact prices but my Ecuadorian friends have advised to fly out of Guayaquil if at all possible, you'll save a ton of money. Also use a VPN to get local prices.
