I tried another brand and it didn’t work out so well. I gave in and bought the Kiara Sky kit and I’ve done my nails twice so far and they’ve turned out amazing! I bought an electric file and it made a world of difference. It made my real nails gritty enough and I also dipped 2-3 times with the color to keep my nails strong. They ended up staying on and lasting an entire month. Those are my only tips to help out!!

I'm so glad to know this kit is better than some others out there and I'm personally envious you had good results with the electric file because I got waayyyy overzealous with it and now I'm afraid to use it again. It’s definitely a learning curve. Sometimes I overdo it and my nails will start to burn in spots that I’ve filed too much but practice makes perfect!

The step I did for the longest time was I did the natural coat before I did the base then dipped the color. It always looked so so clumpy after no matter if I drilled my nails. So I skipped using the natural step and it looked way better.

Yeah! It sort of necessarily dries out the nails so that there's no oils and such on them, giving the nails a clean slate basically for the manicure to last as long as possible. Or at least that's how I understand it!

Ahh so sorry to hear that! I don't think this top coat works with gel in the UV lights. You can do a gel top coat on top of dip nails, but I don't think it works the other way around. If you return this top coat and need another for gel, the same brand has a gel top coat, here bit.ly/3Yp02Eq

Hi!! I think if you don't have the clear powder, it can still be okay but it may kind of make a streaky look. The clear is basically just there so that when you're filing and shaping them, it makes a barrier between the color and the file. However, and I can't say for sure because I've only ever used light pink, but I bet it wouldn't be as bad with a darker color!

How do you prevent the #2 brush from hardening. My brush is hard as a rock and I have to use new brush every time 😩

That is an excellent question! I know what you mean. That happens to me, too. I've just been painting with it anyway, but sometimes I take the brush and just bend it in a few different directions to loosen it up. Sometimes, it hardens and I can't open the bottle, in which case I run it under hot water until it loosens - I guess I should try that with the brush, too!

I am not a expert at nails but I think if you don’t close the bottle right after you use it it will dry out because #2 substance is some what like glue

Kiara sky makes a #6 brush saver that's supposed to soften it when it gets hard.

Your nails look so good, I’m jealous!❤️I have been using Kiara Sky for a while, and struggle so much! When I first apply my top coat, it looks nice and shiny, but it dries all patchy and white spots appear. Any tips?

Oh thank you!! Oh gosh, I'm so sorry, I'm not sure why that's happening! I just tried looking it up and saw someone on Reddit had the same problem. I've personally never had it, but someone on Reddit suggested maybe trying a thinner coat? Someone else suggested using a gel top coat, but I know that's sort of a frustrating answer since we bought the top coat from Kiara Sky! Let me know if you know what fixes it!

I also had the problem where the top coat wasn’t setting smooth or shiny. I figured out that after using step three (and once im ready for top coat), I wash my hands with only water and dry with hand towel. Then I add a thin layer of top coat and wait about 2 minutes for it to dry for a second coat. While my first coat is drying, I dip my top coat brush in some nail polish remover so that the brush doesn’t harden. Once the second coat is on, I wait about five minutes and my nails are perfect! There are also videos that help solve the issue for kiara sky’s top coat. Hope this helps!

It barely ever chips! I'm someone who is hard on her hands and washes them all the time and it doesn't last me as long as dip powder done in a salon would last me (like 2+ weeks) but I can get a good, solid week+ out of it!

I've been fine without it, so I would say you don't need it! It's a cool looking tool though that I'm sure is helpful to keep more product, but you don't need to use it. I've never seen them use it in a salon with a dip mani :)!

Hi! Is it the same sort of top coat? It might just be the brand, but I'm not sure! You're probably already doing this, but I would recommend just making sure everything's dry before adding the top coat (but I'm sure you've done that!)

That's right. The final coat of #3 is to seal and protect and #4 is a top coat, so there's no dust to brush off after using that second coat of #3 because it's a smooth surface at that point so you can add the final coat (#4) with no brushing off required :).
