Hi Marla, Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructions. I haven’t even polished my nails in over 25 years. And when I was taken to the nail salon for my birthday and had a gel manicure I was in love with the results. But for me to go to the salon to have it done is outside of my budget. This video and the one you did for beginner to do dip nails are Awesome! I was able to remove the gel completely from my nails in less about 7 minutes give or take. And I have successfully done my nails with dip powder. All by following your videos. Because of what you shared I had the confidence I needed to do my own nails. And they look beautiful! Not yet salon perfect but oh so close. Thank you again. May God continue to bless you and your family.

I love your videos and tips! I tried the rice removal method & found it didn’t work great for me. Instead I use hot water (as hot as you can tolerate) in a bowl and in the baggie with the acetone I put in 2 dryer sheets (cheap ones). It takes about 5 mins a hand. Just an option if you don’t have rice available and the addition of the dryer sheets really sped up the removal process for me.

I think a lot of people, especially “newbies” just starting to do their own nails don’t understand what peel base is for. And I see so many trying to alter it into something it was never designed for. It was designed for very short wear time. Not going to lie, I get frustrated when I see people say “what am I doing wrong? My peel base doesn’t last but a day or two”. That’s all it’s supposed to last. It is not designed to wear the same mani for 2 weeks . It’s great for people that do swatches, change their Manis multiple times per week. And now people are using it as an easy removal, but want their mani to to not pop off, lift, nothing. Yes, soaking sucks. But it’s not that bad if you’re using the right products.

Hey girly! Thank you so much for your kind words! I do have a trick for glitter dip. Don’t out glitter on your natural nail. Too funny! I haven't had a chance to watch you in about 2 wks! (Shame on me) and wanted to say I too have broken up with peel base! Tried it for a wk or so and being a bartender I had to do my nails 3 times in a wk. It's great for trying new colors, but I just need to make some swatches so I can see the color before applying. Also I've cut my nails down like you. Easier for me and 3rd I need to stop buying so many products! I went crazy with Igel special and last purchase was liquids and dips from Sparkle and Co, which btw were very sweet to send me a dip sample. For just starting this journey early April I've ended up with close to 40 dips plus supplies, which I have no business doing. But you've taught me so much that I became obsessed lol. I am getting compliments on my nails almost daily which I have to thank you for! So the last thing I need is the oil you use and learn how to swatch colors which I have also purchased but need to do and I'm done shopping for a while....hopefully, but will continue to watch you. You're amazing! Thank you!! Love your color!! I'm NOT ordering it now though lol.

Would dip liquid quality affect dip powder adhesion? Brand I always used in the salon has not worked twice now. It "blotches" and lumps and then I have to soak it off. It's happened twice now with Sparkle and Triple. Thick versus Thin? What do you think? Sorry to ask here but I'm not on Facebook.
@MarlaKris3 жыл бұрын
No worries! It can.. usually it’s how quick the liquids dry. I have found, in the past, that sometimes that first dip can be temperamental BUT applying a coat of base first alone, letting that dry down, then applying the base again and dipping has made a whole world of difference for me with the evenness of my application.
@kayraiden92522 жыл бұрын
When you show a product, would you hold it up to the camera a little longer so I can see it clearly. Do you ever let your base coat dry completely, don't dip at this point, but then apply base coat again, then dip. Some are saying this helps for color staying on longer. I want my manicure to last 2-3 weeks. You also mention going to the description box below. Where is that? When you say to go to your Amazon store, how is that done? Thanks

**newbie warning** (edit:: never mind, I just figured this out from another video) Hi! I just discovered you and very much enjoying your content! The first few videos I watched you mentioned you like to use gel topcoat instead of using dip top coat. In this video you explained your removing process and said you don’t like using gel overlay bc you can’t get the same results with the rice soaking method and instead have to file it all off and you don’t like doing that w natural nails. And then you used dip topcoat here (at least I think you did but I’m not sure). So my question.. when instead of using the dip topcoat you opt for the dip with gel topcoat method will this soaking method work or do you have to file everything off as mentioned here? Basically wondering if by gel overlay you mean gel from top to bottom or if it also applies to when you opt out of using dip topcoat? I hope that makes sense

😍 beautiful 🎶!!!!! Again you’ve done an amazing job! I’m the newbie lol so I need to know… how do you keep your dip base and top from getting messed up? I started out by using a brand I ended up not liking and have recently learned I’m not the only one lol … When watching your video I don’t see you wiping your brush off before dipping into the base … 🤔 or maybe I’m confused about what goops up my brush and liquids 🤪 I need help lol
@MarlaKris3 жыл бұрын
Hey girly! I do wipe my top coat brush off in between nails every time. I can be lazy about the base coat BUT I do brush away excess powder from the nail kinda obsessively so I don’t usually contaminate my base brush. If you’re finding that you are messing up the base, definitely try removing as much excess powder as possible off the nails and wiping the brush off in between nails. That should prevent any contamination!

I noticed lately the terms are used interchangeably. If I search for protein bond primer comes up. Thanks, Marla!
@MarlaKris3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, so the young nails protein bond is a primer. There are some products called “bond” and they are either a dehydrator or a base coat. So the terminology is super inconsistent. But if you’re using gel, you definitely want to use both a dehydrator and a primer.

I love that both hands match. Ohhhhh can you try SuperNail ProDip liquids? They are the only ones I use after 3 failed attempts with other liquids when I began dipping 3 years ago. I’ve never tried any other ones because these work so good for me. I guess I’m just wondering how they would compare to other liquids.

My English is not that good. Can you write the instructions for the bag method? Thank you very much!
@MarlaKris3 жыл бұрын
Of course!! 1- file off top coat completely 2- microwave dry rice until hot 3- in a baggie, combine 1/4c acetone, 1tsp oil and a paper towel 4- when rice is hot, place baggie in the bowl of rice 5- place your hand in the baggie 6- cover your hand and the rice bowl with a dish towel 7- soak while occasionally rubbing the nails with paper towel until dip is completely removed Hope this is helpful! 💕

how come your nails doesn't have the apex shape?
@MarlaKris Жыл бұрын
The apex of the nail is what provides strength to prevent cracking/breaking. Since my nails are so short, I don’t require an apex. 💜

Is it because I didn’t use coconut oil or am I not using enough acetone - the dip powder comes off but my fingers are covered with a fine liquid layer of the melted dip powder/base -🤣😂 what am I doing wrong?
@MarlaKris3 жыл бұрын
Ooh.. that sounds sloppy! Might be not enough acetone. I use about a 1/4 cup for one hand at a time. But def try with oil (coconut or otherwise) as it’ll keep the skin hydrated!
