DIY Disney Parks Designer Ears | Ahsoka Tano Her Universe

We're back with another Designer vs DIY! Today, I'm creating a DIY version of the Disney Parks Designer Collection Ahsoka Tano Her Universe ears. These ears were released on May the 4th for Star Wars day (retail $78) and sold out incredibly quickly. I find the retail to still be overpriced, but I couldn't believe that these ears were immediately reselling on eBay for up to $400!! Nobody should ever pay that much for ears, and I knew I could DIY my own version for about $5! I'm so happy with how these ears turned out, and this was a super fun DIY to put together!
These DIYs are intended for PERSONAL use only, not for recreation and resale
Supplies used:
- 1" plastic headband
- Brown minky fabric
- Black braid trim
- White cotton and white flannel fabric
- 1/4" household firm foam (from Joann's)
- Fiberfill + thin batting
- White soft matte fabric paint
- Blue acrylic paint + fabric paint medium
- Thin craft foam
- Tan and silver metallic paint
- Resin-like substitute (Crayola Model Magic Glaze, Mod Podge Dimensional Magic)
- E6000 glue + hot glue
- Orange fabric

They actually wouldn’t be too difficult to do! You just need some sequin flip fabric and decorative items for the crown

Honestly Ahsoka Tano is one of the best female Star Wars characters to ever exist. I was super sad that I couldn’t get the ears when they released. A lot of hours spent on shop Disney and the website glitching that prevented me from buying them. I did find someone on Etsy who made very similar ears and they look just as amazing and are very comfy. This DIY is also fantastic and I will save this for anyone else wanting their own Ahsoka ears

Ahsoka Tano being my favourite Star Wars character (I cosplay her and made my own ears to wear in Hollywood Studios last year already) I was so excited to see an official take on her character ears. But the pricing is rediculus and being from Germany I don't have excess to them anyway. So thank you for your in depth tutorial. I will definitely recreate them as well 😄 And you guessed absolutely right. She is an extremely popular character and whenever merch is released it is limited, sells out quickly and very expensive or nowwhere to be found. And being from Europe doesn't really help that.😅

Since you're kind of a diy wiz, have you found a way to preserve pins you want to wear yet? I own a lot of different bags and try to put my pins on everything because I love to have them out and about, but some of them are pretty rare. I was wondering if you've experimented with clear nail polish or something. I have a silver metallic hinge pin that's starting to show streaks of wear and I'm pretty bummed about it!

I don’t really wear pins out, and I wouldn’t want “modify”/damage a pin like that. But a nail polish top coat would likely work as a good sealant

I can’t believe people charged 5x the price for mouse ears. They did that with the graduation ears and I was not going to spend that kind of money. Luckily, shopdisney put them back to stock so I was able to get it for the regular price.
