Hi abby!! I have some experience with wet shakers and i would recommend sealing first before putting the oil in! Usually the process goes: 1) drilling a small hole in an inconspicuous area on the side of the shaker cavity part, or at the top if you would like to add a eyepin screw to make a keychain/phone strap. I used to use a hand drill from Daiso for this, but have recently upgraded to a dremel tool :D 2) adding the bits/glitter 3) sealing the shaker 4) using the needle tip on the shaker oil, add the oil into the cavity through the hole 5) add the eyepin screw, and then use a small drop of uv resin to seal the hole Hope this helps!! :)) Sorry if i sound like im mansplaining its completely not my intention Love the shaker charms too! They're so small and cute 😍😍

Thank you! This is so helpful! I’m a shaker charm n00b but I’m hoping to improve 😍 I’ll try sealing first next time!! Would you use the same steps when using shaker film too?
@so-st-sa4 жыл бұрын
@@LoriensCraftBox yup! Same process with shaker film! I think you might have better success sealing with film because it's thinner and sticks easily to the wet resin :) ik some ppl prefer to dome over the film before filling with oil too, but in my experience i find it doesnt really matter whether you dome before or after filling with oil. Cant wait to see what else you can make with shaker molds :) theyre a lot of fun but take a lot of time and effort (and theres so many places one can mess up :O) totally worth the end result tho

Hey Lorien! Shakers are SO fiddly, and yes they can be messy... someone here mentioned using acetate as a lid rather than the lid that comes with it... because when you use UV you can't really control the warping, so it's hard for them to match up peeerrfectly. Anyway regardless you made some beautiful things!!

Oh they came out so cute. It’s a bugger about the shaker oil being hard to use and stay within shaker self. The moulds for the little shaker pieces is dang adorable.

Part of your issue could be that adorable little flask mold... As that's meant to make dry shakers with, I had the issue... 😭 instead of making top part for the flask, use acetate over the top to make the shaker, then stick your needed through and add your oil... Then dome with resin to seal all that goodness in. I hope I could help you out some, but these still turned out #cuteaf
