Hi April, on the floor of the house, I would suggest putting some cutouts to aid in using a forklift to move it around. Cutouts like on a pallet. Great product!!!

I just finished the Doggie Duplex for my daughter for Xmas! It looks great! I added wheels like the ones on your big work bench so that she can move it around, then set it on the ground, then lift & move again when/if needed. 🙂

Thanks for the cue about the Thinsulate material. Our attic has blown-in insulation that I'm probably going to have vacuumed out to fix some squirrel damage. HATE fiberglass insulation. 😝 Will add this to the research alternatives. Hope the pups have been enjoying their house(s)!

The TV Show, Hometown, made a dog house built on a plastic pallet base. High-Density Polyethylene Pallets (HDPE) They didn't want contact with the ground, to avoid rot.

This looks a lot like what I was looking to do. Even the solar as well too run a bit of heat in the winter and a fan in the summer living in Maryland can be a pain for a dog that lives being outside.

I’d love to make this for my dogs but I know if I wanted the windows to be see through I’d have to go in there every couple days and clean them. You can’t even see out of my trucks passenger window cause of all the nose, paw and drool marks.

Unsure when Thinsuolate was brought to the market but in Canada it has been here for a few years almost a decade I believe they use to make gloves and mittens and jackets but I will say it is great stuff congrats it looks great

I have always built what I need and want and bring a camera along to show how I did it, what I used and why. I wanted a nice dog house for the yard for when they are in the yard, want shade or out of the rain. They are with me or on the top, covered porch normally but they do enjoy being out in the yard also. Lots of choices for them. Thanks for watching.

@@AprilWilkerson yes, I love the other two with the insulation, ease of cleaning up, and quality of everything you include in building them especially for winter. This one I can see my two during the summer escaping from our extreme summer sun. I had a gorgeous Aussie that passed from discoid lupus a couple years ago and as much as he loved the outdoors I had to monitor/limit his sun exposure. I wish I had thought to use this product and built him an outdoor play/escape or something he could’ve safely been in. If you ever build a dog park/playground I’ll be the first to watch! I was raised in South Texas on the coast and yes, summers are miserable for people and animals alike. Unless you have outdoor fans blowing on them, I don't see any other way unless it's a small AC Unit. Thanks for watching.
