I'm finally getting around to putting the bell siphon into my chop and flip build, and will be looking at the solid's outlet next. This video couldn't have come at a better time for me XD

I have had some luck (in other applications) using a heat gun to soften mismatched overly tight PVC fittings to the point where they will 'stretch' enough to fit. As with anything requires finagling though.
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with a good finagling if it does the job. 👍 I've used the heat gun to recover quite a few glued fittings over the years as well. Cheers Jason.

For the fingerlings, I used a sleeve pipe over the SLO just like the bell siphon sleeve. I drilled small but many holes on it for the flow and capped the ends. It clogs once a month but cleaning is super easy and no fingerlings in my settler.

Like the SLO setups in the base draining aquaculture tanks Gürkan?

@@RobsAquaponics Yes. Once the fingerlings big enough, I remove the sleeve.

What I did is to use a 2 inch to 1 inch reducer and put inverted V-Shape cuts on 4 sides. Hopefully it will work.

Let us know if it did mate. 👍 Cheers.

@Rob Bob's Aquaponics & Backyard Farm my fingerlins were able to pass thru and go to my SLO.. haha! Put up a screen to make the hole lower and smaller.

3000 gallon pond would like to run this at a 2000 gph flow rate 3'' pipe or 2''?
@breedingbubbles Жыл бұрын
Doesn't this mean that using the 50mm pipe for the SLO is a waste? Wouldn't that 40mm section at the bottom become the bottleneck so that there's no benefit for using the 50mm pipe and you could just as well use 40mm all the way?
@RobsAquaponics Жыл бұрын
There would be a 1½-3mm reduction in diameter so I don't think it's an issue. 40mm DWV fittings to go through the tank may be a bit harder to source as well depending on where you live.

Silly question mate but I got access to a rectangular pool can I run two slo pipes interconnected to each other
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
You can have them joined but it would pay to run them into a slightly larger diameter communal drain if the flow rate is high through both.
