Hi Rob, I am having great success growing Tumeric. I have had arthritis since I was 4. I didn't know it would grow here until watching your channel. I have full use of my hands again now eating raw turmeric instead of eating the powder. I am very grateful mate. I am interested in the recipes you make using produce from the aquaponic system. My husband has set up a little system, so far it is going great. We both enjoy watching your videos. Would like to say thankyou for showing everyone the amazing aquaponics. Also my daughter said to say she likes the fish when they kiss her finger. She's 8. She asked if your fish are friendly too lol.

Cheers Rob, very much appreciated. You and your family are helping so many people. It's awesome. I am blown away by the Tumeric and how much it has helped the arthritis. I have told everyone who will listen to give it a go. It beats man made medicine by a country mile. I don't take any anti inflammation medicine now. Just 1cm of raw Tumeric a day. Just feels like it takes 6 months to chew it 🤣

Can you do a video trying, the draw air method (add a pipe near the water pump intake that leads out of the tank to draw air in to the water for free like a sand blaster… sort of). Seen a few videos on it and it looks great for ponds, I think it would be great for hydroponics, and also saves money on air pumps

Have a bell siphon with snorkel. It takes forever to get full flow drain -often trickles so have to twiddle/twist the bell to initiate full drain (then can't move it at all). Drains great then. Suggestions on reason for slow drain start?
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
It might be that a water lock isn't forming properly. If you don't have a reducer at the top you could try adding one. Increasing the water flow is another fix you could try. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
@christopherstaples67582 жыл бұрын
@12:00 sorry rob but this defies the whole reason for a slo , you now have a failure point at the tap that will 100% drain the tank , purpose with a slo is so that the water capacity is never compromised while allowing solids to be picked up of the bottom , better off doing a H siphon or doing the outlet @ 50% or so through the tank , as for the fish gaurd I use ~1m PVC pipe slightly longer then the length of tank to help seal the end , with holes drilled / slots cut into it , heat up wall end push into hole and mush it down on the wall side , when the fish get larger they remove it them selves ...
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын

Hey Rob anyway you can offer advice on how to convert a 20 gallon juice plus tower garden into a aquaponic system using tilapia ? I’m sure others are trying to do the same using the vertical garden type I bought ,would be a great video. I can’t find any information online , I don’t know if anyone has even done it yet.

I think you would need to add a separate tank as the reservoir looks to be very small. Am not 100% sure what would be the best way to circulate the water back from the plants to the fish side either. Would need to have a look at one before I could really give any suggestions sorry.

Hey, I’ve just found your channel and I’m super interested to may add this to my backyard! But I have two questions: Do you think, it’s possible to put the fishtank flat with the ground - like a garden pond? Do you have experience or how to handle this tank/bed during wintertime with freezing conditions (-15 Celsius)?
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
You can pump up from a pond into a garden bed with no issues. You just want to make sure that the plumbing is well glued/secured as you may pump the pond dry if the pipes leak. I think that you may need to drain the water from all the plumbing & bring the fish inside over winter though as the pipes would probably freeze over. Are you in Northern Europe of Canada?
