Nice video!! Thanks. It looks like the outdoor unit may be too close to the wall. I can’t tell for sure. The instructions for my unit (18K) specified 12” of clearance when the outdoor unit is ground-mounted. If it’s wall mounted, allowing air flow around top, bottom and both sides, then 6” is sufficient. Unobstructed air flow is key to the efficiency and longevity of any air conditioning equipment. Your unit is also impacted by the excess lineset impeding air flow behind the unit. On a related note, the stuff (chairs?) blocking the left hand side of the unit isn’t helping the air flow.

Is that system still working because I noticed the line set was not vaccume before releasing the refrigerant... That could also be the source of the noise, air in the system would lead to moisture in the system mixing with refrigerant to form ACIDS, Acids would damage the internals of the winding on the compressor and failure of the system down the road..

I’m currently upgrading my house circa 1948. Its cooled via window ac units and heated by a wood stove. There is a oil furnace but it hasn’t been used in over a decade as three repairmen have been out to fix it and failed. The house has an upgraded breaker panel. Nothing is grounded and most outlets are the two prong type other than a few GCFI outlets I’ve installed. Think there will be any issues with the electrical? Really would like to invest in one of these mini-split units. Your thoughts?

If your not gonna use the plastic tube that goes thru the wall you probably could use a smaller hole. I looked at one at a local restaurant here in town and they used a smaller hile for sure and just foamed around it really well. The look afterwards isn’t as clean looking but it still works.
