Good video. Had to change fuel filter at 10K miles on mine. I replaced the plastic housing with a billet aluminum one.

Thinking about the doing same. The plastic one is about as cheap as it gets sadly. Honestly liked the old design better when it was in the passenger side, harder to change but would last forever.

How often should I change the filter? Is there in indicator on the dash notifying you when to change?

So it's really going to depend on what you're doing with the truck and how often your towing it's all really based on mileage and usage there is a notification system that will pop up when it's time to change it unless you already have it enabled in the din. But there's nothing to worry about trust me it'll let you know when it's time to change it

2019, you will have the L5P but it can also depend on your build date. If there is no fuel filter by the front of the gas tank when your underneath you have the LML and its behind the Passenger front wheel liner. Both are the same procedure and crazy easy but more than likely you are L5P GMC

Oh I know...its stupid expensive and they call it the diesel tax. I think in a few videos I broke down the costs. Oil change 160$ Fuel Filter .....dont even get me started. I put the filter and fuel filter in the descriptions. 20$ worth of parts and oil is no more than 50. I get my Diesel Oil from Costco 12 qts 39$ and its rebranded Shell.
