Using a cookiecutter is a nice version to create any shape you want. You can also fill the coloured liquid in it and then stack it on the part already molded to the lid, this way the pattern won't stop in the middle of your lip balm.

If you want to make this for someone with a nut allergy or if you have a nut allergy, I'm sure you know about sunflower seed butter which tastes similar to peanut butter and its often used as a substitute for peanut butter ^-^

In Britain in WWII under rationing sometimes paraffin wax would be used in cooking and the main effect eating a sizeable amount of it caused was needing to use the bathroom more frequently shall we say. But I'm hoping everyone here is old enough not to eat lipbalm. Washing up the container you melted it in is another issue entirely XD

I tried this trick and it worked other than the fact that peanut butter expires. So of course you have to check the expiration date and I would suggest use until 1 week before expiration. I checked mine after a long time and the entire mold was green and moldy

anna my balm seemed a little soft, but i'm sure it's because i used two tablespoons of coconut oil. I would suggest using 1 or 1 1/2 tablespoons of coconut oil ^^

+Annabeth Chase Hi! The lid of the EOS is actually a mold so you just need to pour liquid balm inside and it automatically hardens into a round shape. The snapping is just to replace the bottom part of the container. Since it's not officially a part of the container that should be opened, you have to wedge it out with a craft knife and then snap it back into place.

olive oil would work too, it would just have a little funny taste. :) use the app aroundme and look up "Trader Joes" because I KNOW they have it. also call your local Kroger, they will have it too!

yes even if candle is made out of wax it isn't made to be used as a lip balm cuz it has a different texture its not as smooth and soft as normal lip balms.
