DIY EV Part 50 - Steering a new course with a Volvo PAS Pump

One of the reasons my EV projects take so long, is that I design for serviceability! The main charger on the Scirocco was behind the front grill and accessing it required removing the front battery box. That was a job that could be done in less than half an hour.

If only I could use that as an excuse for taking years to build mine. Sadly not as one of my next jobs is to remove and replace the none functioning cabin heater. This will involve removing subframe for access from below and inverter plus charger to get at it from above. 🤥 In my defence when I started out on this build I didn't know what I was doing, what hardware I was going to use or how to install any of it so I don't think I did too bad. If I were to do it again now it would take a fraction of the time and most things would be fairly accessible.

that's a nice upgrade... sorry that the first one didn't work out, but you gained some experience which is valuable. I think the new method will also have fewer failure modes and be easier to repair if it fails. great job!
