This is so cool !!👍👍 I believe soon the Nissan Leaf is going to be highly sort out valuable EV glider and accessories 👍👍🥉🥉

So this means... You can do a kart with a Nissan leaf motor and cheap controller?
@alibro75122 жыл бұрын
Sort of, the motor can handle 300kW and the most powerful ebike controller that will work this way as far as I know is around 3kW so they're a tad mismatched. 😉

Hi, you got link to the controller you used in video. Will give it a go. Can take my PDM and inverter off boat and see under load
@alibro75127 ай бұрын
As far as I can tell any of the cheapest nastiest ebike controllers from ebay or amazon will work. The slightly better Sine wave controllers probably will not unless they are sold as being able to work "without hall effect sensors"

Need some advise., Will it possible to charge nissan leaf while on drive mode using a generator? ( Similar way as Nissan E-power-Enote car)? or will it possible to recharge the nissan leaf using Enote power generator while on a drive mode?

Sorry mate, I've no idea but it kinda defeats the purpose of owning Leaf doesn't it.

I'm bench testing a high voltage motor w/one of these things too. Were you able to output 800W to the motor? I get throttle control but very low RPM.
@alibro7512 Жыл бұрын
I think I got pretty good rpm but it was a couple of years ago so not certain. I probably did get full 800W from it as I used it to move the car around the driveway.

what voltage was the controller running and leaf's nominal made for?@@alibro7512

So cool! How many ohms are the coils in the motor?

Thanks, 🙂 I never thought to check 🤔

Did you have to use the stock inverter to get it to run in this test mode?
@alibro75122 ай бұрын
The stock Nissan Leaf inverter wasn't connected.

Oh that's awesome!

That could be useful when it comes to making the adapter plate. ;)

I was thinking the same myself. 😉

Keep that in the boot of the car for an emergency setup lol

Any resolver feedback to this controller?
@alibro75124 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for your question. In a word no. I have found that the cheap ebike controllers don't need resolver feedback to drive three phase motors. At least not the two types of motor that I've tried i.e. Alternators adapted to be a motor and this Nissan Leaf motor.

@@alibro7512 very cool I have the same EM61 leaf motor. I just finished FOC tuning it to my open source logic prius gen 3 inverter.

@@InvokePerformance Sweet. I got mine working on the bench with the Leaf inverter using Damien Maguires VCU. Hoping to get it in the car ASAP.

@@alibro7512 very nice are you using the leaf drop in board? And have you had any issues with setup? I have two leaf inverters gen1 and two and I’m waiting for development of the zombieverter which may alow CAN control of different inverters with one VCU

@@InvokePerformancesorry I didn't see this before now. Hopefully you've been watching but I have the car driving reliably so hoping to get it on the road soon.
