We did the same Dax at process to the front clip of a work Carl, turned out beautiful. Only thing we noticed was it would chip like old laquer paint of the days back. . We had about 60 bucks in rustoleum, everything else we had. The coach looks fabulous, I’m glad you did it. It’ll all be good! 👍👍👍👍😀😀

I was one of the people that originally commented when you took the stickers off and I have to say the amount of work you’ve done is absolutely amazing. I do hope you decide to add some other graphics to the new Rosi. Although it came out beautiful, it is a little plane, but when you show the videos of the alpha convention, I guess that’s how they all sort of a walk. I saw those tall spray cans at HD was wondering about those perfect for big jobs like this. I would recommend a respirator when using spray cans. I once messed up my lungs painting POR-15 using a brush not even spraying it without a respirator had to use an inhaler for a month. I use one now on everything if I can smell paint, I use it. POR nasty stuff it is made like superglue it reacts to moisture I got a wiff of fumes couldn't stop coughing. House paint lacquer usually not a problem I still use one when spraying it out of a can. The RV came out looking really good.

Rosie looks fabulous! You did a great job. I was horrified in the beginning when you said you were going to roll her. But, then the old Jaguars were painted by hand with a brush then sanded so why not roll it. I definitely wouldn't want to paint Rosie with a brush.

Thanks. As I said in the video, I researched for over 2 years. I was impressed with the process. The tipping part didn't satisfy me, so I didn't end up doing that. But the prep & finish for rolling is a ton of steps. We are really happy with how it turned out.

Thank you. We used gloss black regular spray ( not wide spray) for handles & such & gloss white on gelcoat & engine door. I'll check that and correct that. Best of luck! Jamie didn't include the pox repairs, we didn't have many, but let us know if you need details on that.

In the 3rd episode, at one minute in, I talked about the rolling and tipping they do on yachts, but then I said I tried that and I wasn't happy with it so came up with my own. I should have clarified "my own" meant no tipping. Sorry if that wasn't clear. So, only used a brush to get around smaller areas and edges. Thank you for hanging in there with us!

Hi, aside from limited selection of color and cost, would you have considered using the turbo spray cans throughout the coach as oppose to rolling it? Also, did 5 coats of rolling really help with the depth of the paint? Would 3 coats do very similar as well? Lastly, when you used the turbo sprays, that was only 2 coats or was it 5? Thanks!
@RoamingWithRosie
@RoamingWithRosie 8 ай бұрын
Turbo spraying the upper half would have required a lot more masking and I would have to worry about overspray. The 5 coats made easy to sand out the imperfections without sanding through the paint. I sprayed 5 coats of the Turbo spray as well. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

No, we didn't keep track. It was done outdoors, so weather was a constant factor. Also, Jamie's on the north side of 60 yrs. Sometimes a day of rest and stretching were needed. The project was started in March & completed middle of June. It also will depend on what kind of repairs need to be made on yourrv exterior.

I just bought a 2008 CT COACHWORKS 40 ft with 5,163 miles (not typo) and 4 hours 7k onan generator. My exterior looks horrible, especially the graphics look exactly like yours did in the beginning so we are deciding what to do remove or sand, prime paint graphics different color as a recent retired SF medic I hate brown and green colors. But, kinda think all white looks like a celebrity tour bus and graphics make it more like a regular motorhome. Im thinking if I remove all graphics and then add grahics a shop would be multi thousands of dollars. So, i havent decided yet which is better.
@RoamingWithRosie

I like the all white. It reminds me of the Prevost motorhomes. If we decide to add any it would probably just be the name of our RV. If we do decide to add that I will paint that as well. No more decals, they just end up cracking and fading. Thanks for watching!
