awesome a video about a farmhouse table where basic tools were used vs other videos having 1000s of dollars of tools used.

Thanks for the feedback! Just trying to show people how they can do it without an entire workshop.

Nice job, but the end pieces are for expansion and contraction and is supposed to be able to move and they 😊 won’t using pocket hole joinery
@508homes Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback frank! What joinery method would you say is the best for this situation?

How did you attach the top to the base? Screws from underneath? Nice looking table.
@508homes2 ай бұрын
Yes I screwed up from the bottom to hide the screws. I used 2” screws so they wouldn’t poke through the top. Thanks!

Nice table! Are you building benches or chairs for it too? Please post a photo after you put the finish on it.
@508homes4 жыл бұрын
The customer already had a set of chairs they are using. I stained the table to match those chairs. I will post a video soon of the finished product. Thanks for watching!

Nice one, came out looking great! Lovely work! I especially like the look of that stringer, with the extra length on each side. Have you had any issues with the breadboard ends? I would’ve thought the boards running lengthwise down the table would’ve put some pressure on the ends, when it gets hotter or colder. Inspiring to watch, thanks for posting!

Thanks Scott! The table as a whole has lasted outside for multiple years and seasons now. It is under a covering but open to temp changes and still looks as great as it did the first day I made it!

Great video, I really enjoyed watching the build. Are the plans for sale?
@508homes Жыл бұрын
Thanks Alvaro! I haven’t looked into selling plans at this point but maybe I will at some point soon.

The table will probably crack because of how you screwed the end pieces. Your end pieces will prevent expansion.

Been looking for this easy table..it's great! my only question is what is the overall dimensions and the length of your cross braces? Thanks!
@508homes3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gerry! I believe these measure 12' from outer point to outer point. I usually mark halfway up on my vertical leg piece, cut one cross brace and hold it up to make sure it does not overlap the halfway point. Once I like the length of my one "test" piece, I cut the rest of them to the same length.

The link above for the miter saw was a Bosch but in the vid it’s a Kobalt. What model was the latter? Was it bad that you changed it?
@508homes2 жыл бұрын
I must have provided the wrong link I’m sorry. Same specs 10” miter sliding bevel. Love the kobalt but have heard great things about the Bosch as well.

How is the table holding up? Any cracks?

Still looks brand new! Check out my other farmhouse table build on my channel to see the finish job! Staining the table the correct way and sealing it can really impact its lifetime.

I have not written up plans but do mention dimensions in the video at various stages.

Do you have planes for this
@508homes Жыл бұрын
I do not have written out plans as I usually just build as I go. I do mention some dimensions in the video. Sorry about that!
