I really love all your tutorials that I've seen so far. I love that you use no special tools, explain it so easy and make it really economical. I followed your cardboard charm with paperclip tutorial and made a few Paris themed and a few others for a mini album I'm making. Now I don't have to buy a Paris charm :) And I'm not even into jewelry making but I'm totally going to make this one!!

It's very forgiving... you can paint it before or after applying the glue and allowing the glue to dry.Sometimes I make a sheet of tops, then I start gluing layers of cereal box together, and other times I make the pendants first, by gluing all the layers together, and then proceeding from there. (And sometimes I have 4 or 5 layers of cereal boxes, the whole front of boxes for instance together, then I have a full sheet, and can cut out pendants as needed and paint or use as needed.

Yes, these are super cool! I agree with so many of the other comments on these. I think the technique using the Aileens glue holding the wet piece into a candle and wiping the soot off would be great for these pendants as well. (it makes a beautiful metallic finish) but your technique is more "kid friendly" and really is a lot easier and just as beautiful. Glazing them with some waterproof gloss would be awesome as well. But I am sure there are so many other things that could be done to these or not! They are quite lovely as is. Thanks again as I've stated before I adore your videos and your crafts made from things that cost nothing or near nothing.

I love all of your inspirational videos! Your techniques come across as being so simple to do, and I've tried out a few! Thanks so much! But did I miss a step when you started to apply the glue to the black circle? Was it painted after you glued all the circles together and let dry?

Yes, I have used the tape method... I find it finicky.. so usually I just save all my nozzle bottles from various glue and paint containers... but just in case people didn't have those, I used the toothpick method. It's more time consuming, but pretty much everyone can find a toothpick, or a pencil tip to apply the lines. (But a small nozzle container works best!!)

I just used acrylic paint, it's called crafter's acrylic, and you can buy it anywhere.. Walmart, Michaels, Dollar Store. Nothing fancy. And you should also be able to use it for polymer clay as well.

It's optional for this one, if you want it really shiny, you can add nail polish, but if you don't, it looks like brushed metal as the metallic paint has a bit of sheen.

Thesae are very pretty!!! I was wondering if you have ever tried to use tape on the glue bottle to make the tip give a finer line (instead of using the toothpick)? I figured you have probably tried different ways, but just curious if the toothpick way worked best for you? :-) Tfs!!! :-)

Absolutely gorgeous and I really want to make them myself!! I'm wondering if I'm hearing things or did they actually sound like metal smacking the table when she dropped it back down? Are you supposed to glue all 4 pieces of cardboard together? I'm really confused, so kudos to everyone who caught on better than me ;) ------Oh jeez, I just realized someone else asked about the glue, silly me lol!!!--------
@Hectanooga1
@Hectanooga1 9 жыл бұрын
Hi Lura! Yes, they actually sound like metal... they are very hard... and yes, glue all 4 layers of cardboard together... they will be as hard as wood once the glue is cured... which can take a few days. (And you can actually sand the edges after they are finished if your edges are not really even.) Have fun making these, and I hope it gives you lots and lots of ideas of all the other things you can make with cardboard!! Emi
