It’s that time again to sit in the car, fully focused and ready to dive into another awesome video from Travis. Let’s go!

Why not have the holes tapped already? They drilled the holes, the setup was already there. Very cool project though!!! Looking forward to the first tests!! 😊

I will include the drawings for tapping if anyone else wants to order them ready to go, but I have a tapping arm and I need to justify it's purchase!

Kindly, what's the model of your tapping machine and where can I get it?
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
KZbin is blocking my comment with the direct link, so go to AliExpress and search "M3-M16 CNC Electric Tapping Machine Servo Motor Electric Tapper Drilling With Chucks Easy Arm Power Tool Threading Machine"

Just a thought, is there not such a product that could switch your fibre source from machine to machine 🤔 so you could use the same source on multiple types of machines
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
Yes, it exists...I have a link somewhere, looking through my notes

WIth a tap arm like you have, does it ever break taps or is the success rate high?
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
I've tapped probably 200-300 holes with it so far, M3-M10, and haven't broken a tap yet.
@Arek_R.Ай бұрын
If you use it wrong enough then yeah you probably would break the tap.

@@Arek_R. Haha, good point!

Why the missing bolt on the adapter plate?
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
That hole was not threaded, I assume it's for an alignment pin.

Is their a video of the tapping arm
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
No specific video on it...I think I've shown it enough in project videos.

Hi ! , I'm curious, what are you gonna use for motor / step motor ?

Leadshine AC servo motors
@PhtevenzzzАй бұрын
@@diyfiberlaser have you ever heard about the Teknic ClearPath ? with the embeded drive
@diyfiberlaserАй бұрын
@@Phtevenzzz Yes I have. I've never used them, nor do I feel compelled to try them. From what I've seen, their main draw is their auto-tuning software, but the Leadshine servos I'm using also have that feature.
@electrowizard2000Ай бұрын
@Phtevenzzz don't try Clearpaths USB-serial library in C#, it's nearly useless. It's crazy old, no proper error support etc. Even more frustrating is that it's a serial connection and they don't provide a normal library for an embedded device, it's linux/windows only.
@PhtevenzzzАй бұрын
@@electrowizard2000 Thanks for the advice ! I alway wanted to give them a try but in the "step & dir" forme.
