descent, but not perfect. the firebolt actually has a curve as big as the nimbus 2000 maybe even bigger and i think you could make it look better you cut some of the bristles a bit shorter than the others to give a good effect.

The reason why the Firebolt is smaller, is because it can go from 0-150 in 10 seconds. In the 422nd Quidditch World Cup Finals, both the Bulgarian and the Irish Quidditch teams used Firebolts. (Goblet Of Fire)

the "sway" in the handle is actaully supposed to be a lot bigger than the one you put into your peice of wood, but i love the fact that your trying to make a broomstick so keep making them

JC. Yes, you are correct. I mean Hair Wig. When looking at all the picutes on the internet of the Noble collection the bristles seem to be more rubbery and hair like. I could not think of any thing short of buying a flat sheet of rubber and cutting it into thin bands. In my head I believe a wig would work, but when your making it up as you go along, you work with what you have. Would love to see some pics of your broom. Send to [e-mail] Thanks Jon.

Awesome work! Just returned from the hardwood store to try and duplicate your brooms. Could you let me know what pipe bender you have? I’ve been looking for something nice and compact that can make those tight bends.

Phoenix, I used the Mighty Mite bender. There are a lot of rod benders out there and I honestly can't recommend one since this is the only one I have ever owned. I use mine a lot on other projects so I could justify the price tag. But I would recommend finding a knock off on Amazon. Jay, thanks for the comment. But if you saw in the video my son pulled the piece out of someone's junk pile on the side of the road. It was part of a headboard for a bed. But like the other brooms I made, I simply used a 1x4.

@@JONSDIY Cool :-) I was also wondering about the tail. You mentioned using a "wig" if you attempted to make this again. Are we talking like a wig an actor wears or is this some sort of wood working term? I'm not super familiar with construction lol. I was thinking of possibly trying to find faux, bendable tree branches for a vase to use on the end of mine.

@@jaysee2696 Yes, When I finally came across a Noble Replica of the fire bolt, The bristles seemed rubbery and reminded me of a wig. I think It would look more like the real broom with a costume wig. The thicker the better.

I’m a little confused... the bottom of the Firebolt’s handle is not white... it’s suppose to be the color of natural dark wood from a branch. The concept is that the whole handle is a branch from a tree, it is all natural and only the top of the handle has been sanded, smoothed, carved with the symbols, and painted to make it glossy. It resembles Harry Potter’s wand. His wand is made to look like the handle is natural, untouched brand, and the stem of the wand has been sanded and perfected. It’s suppose to be one piece of branch/wood and it is natural handle, and processed/perfected stem. I love that type of design because it just shows the beauty of both natural wood and perfected wood... Maybe you have a reason for making the bottom of the broom handle white, can you explain? I’m not trying to hate btw!!! I definitely commend you for making this extremely elaborate piece and you have amazing talent! I would still buy this broom for you if I could ask for the bottom to resemble real, unprocessed, wood 😂

Kelvin, You obviously know more about Harry Potter brooms than me. I have not even seen any of the movies. But I can say that for this broom I actually had borrowed a friends (noble collection) to use as a guide. It was identical when I finished. except for the bristles which were more like a wig. So I guess your question should be directed to the makers of Noble not some DIY'er in his garage :-)
