One nose 8' -$30.00 for 2 stairs. For 2 flys with 8 stairs each -3-4", I need 8 full pieces of nosing x $30= $240.00 If I will do it by my self - one nose - one board, approximately $5.00 each x 16= $80.00 $240-$80=160.00 Sometimes, If I cut not right one nose, need to buy full peace again, But this nose I can just repeat. Good savings!

this is such a great video, you provided the measurement bellow are you saying the fron is 2 inches, 2.5 inches sorry i use CM. your template use 4 parts to create the straight nose,. can you precise the third one added to the front what is the size

Hi Zohra, for laminate square nose I made front piece triple size of material. In this case it was 1,5” or 36mm. If you make it smaller, it’s hard to cut with out chipping out. You can do front size any dimensions, ones I did 4”, because Custumer wants it. Thanks for your question!

You can buy door skin, make strip and glue on the edge of the hallway under the nosing. On the table, saws take off a little bit from the back side of your nosing make it nice overlapping. Sorry my English not so well, hard to explain. It's time to make one more video about overlap nosing. You, not the first person who asked me about it. Thanks.

Your workmanship is excellent. You did a fantastic job. Unfortunately this is what I'll have to do for my stairs. Manufactures of laminate flooring should know better that this is what people want and definitely not the bullnosing they supply which does not fit like yours.

Love the $ savings, and look is better than store-bought rounded nose. I have few questions, you nailed into the face of the nose, can you see the nails? What nail gun and size of nails did you use? Also do you recommend gluing the next board tongue and groove to the nose board?

Hi, I used 23 Ga pin nailer, you can find a link in the description. These wholes from pins not visible, but you can fill it up. If you locke this nose to the next board - you don't need to glue it together, just on the bottom to the stairs. Thanks!

Hi David, lets say, your step on staircase 10". Laminate board 6,5" 10"-6,5"=2,5"left. 2,5"+1,1/4"=3 3/4" - this is the top of nose. Front of the nose you can make any size, I did 2,5". And bottom for nose returns 1,1/4" Does it make sense?

So some ppl cut the bullnose out totally and have straight 90 degree edge between tread and raiser and i have seen ppl use vinyl planks and bend them to create a bullnose to cover the round nose if they decided to not cut it off .. Can i still use THIS method with laminate floor without cutting out rounded edge bullnose ?

If i cut 45 degree with laminate cause thats the only way i can do with laminate ... If i have a end of a stair that is not cut but round ... Will 45 degree method work without me having to cut the stair ? My problem is my stair is built in to the sides ...its not free on sides at all .. So if i cut .. There will be a piece of stair left .. So if i can get away with ur technique which I LOVE ...that would be awesome

Hi. I really like your idea and I want to make my stairs using 12 thick laminated floor. However when I cut my floor at the angle it's slower than yours and I'm getting burn marks so it's hard to control the piece to get a straight cut. I'm using Titan TTB763TAS table saw and new Freud 80T Table saw blade. Do you know is it because of wrong blade or weak rotating speed of table saw? I really want to make that nosing but can't afford to buy more expensive table saw. Thanks

Vinyl bullnose for stairs made with same technology and used for a long time. Why this nose will be damaged? In Vancouver we using square noses for a long time all types flooring. And no complaints.

@@MrYoucandoityourself the concern is that the plank was not designed or engineered for that. For my case I am using Engineered Wood planks that consist of a top 3M clear layer, over a thing wood veneer, over a high density board over a thin plywood. Do you feel it should hold up the same?
