Who in their right mind gave this a thumbs down? That's without a doubt one of the coolest projects I've ever seen. I would love to have something like this in my garage, I just don't have the wall space. I found your video because I'm looking to build a simple folding table, but this totally blew me away. So cool man. Crazy how jealous people can be in this world.

This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

It's a space saver for sure. Only keep tools in that cabinet that I know ill use when the bench is down have a 2nd set of ones that are common in the house shop. I definitely learned a lot making the video and from the comments especially the audio. She is pretty easy on the eyes!

Excellent to hear. It certainly helps with some of the clutter I've had in my garage. As others have pointed out keep a 2nd set of common use tools in another spot so you don't have to drop the table every time to grab a screwdriver!

I know this is quite the old video, but, I honestly really like this a lot! I just bought a house, and I am looking to build out a nice shop from my garage, and I have been just stuck on what to do with the space because I absolutely need to have the lowest visual noise but still have everything I need. I love how this table is just not obtrusive or loud whatsoever. I would like something like this, but something like a push button storage, I unfortunately am disabled and physically challenged so having to lift and put down is a bit difficult for me, if I could just press it and have it like pop out, and then I could lower it to the floor that would be awesome, but I definitely love using vertical space, I want as little clutter on my garage floor as possible because I want to do the epoxy rising floors and just open it up and look into something clean and minimal. Sorry for rambling, but I really enjoyed the video and loved the workbench. If I could do something like this and have like a drawer slide all organized tool bench like a vertical stacked drawer system to pair, I might actually get back into metal work. I stopped it after my accident (unrelated) and just been dealing with the lack of ability of movement and all that in my life, so I have been in a runt but because I am moving to somewhere I've always wanted to, and it's more rural it would be nice to change my life and do something new, and I just felt inspired, so maybe I will try it. 🥹

I like it! Maybe put the center brace 2*4 in at an angle and close it up in the legs, and you won't have to leave the brace sitting on top. It just looks like it could easily be knocked down on accident that way and cause injury. Also maybe a small strip along the bottom that the bench top edge would rest behind while it's on the wall. HD has1/4*1/2 shoe molding that would be perfect for that. Put the bump out so it can ride across the top and fall into place super easy. Again, this way no one can pull it down on accident.

Like you, I searched through numerous videos, drew up plans, chatted with others, to come up woth the plan that suited my needs. The hidden tool board is awesome, great idea, and yes, have altered my plans to accomadate this as well. Fantastic job. Afterall, when folks do projects like this, commenters need to remember, there is always another way to skin a cat. However, when a video is made and a project built, they are done so to help others, and built to suit the individual need. I personally do not pay attention to music in videos, if I wanted to listen to music, then I would. Aside from those types of comments, I look for the content, a way to do something better, maybe so I don't mess something ip wasting materials, etc. Awesome man, and thank God for the "muscle", right? They are the best. On of my fav vids at this point.

Love the table, love the hidden storage compartment, very good design and would love to see more videos with content like this. However, and I say this lightly because it's clear you're new to it, but spend a little more time on the production of the video. The sound track is pretty annoying and you could have cut half the content to keep people from skipping through it and still have had all the same information. Never the less a lovely job! I got the rolling bench finished yesterday, I just need to breakdown my make shift sawhorse with old door set up and sweep up and I can get my truck in the garage for the first time in FOREVER!, My husband was impressed with the bench.He said it was the most useful thing I've built so far. Great video and cool foldup workbench. Instead of the humming music, I would have rather heard you overlay commentary on steps along the way. Adding your wheels to a hinged 2 x 4 would allow you to fold in the wheels, so your bench legs would sit on solid ground. 👍👍

Built a similar one this summer, you can store your cross board in the bottom - I rest mine on the bolts sitting across while I close the legs on it. I've got kids that would find a way to knock the loose board down any other way.

Nice bench! Coupla pointers, coupla criticisms: Pointers: 1) might be faster to use a drywall T-square to Mark your lines than to mark both ends & connect with level... 2) might consider using Torx drive (‘star’ drive) fasteners instead of what appear to be Phillips head - bits hold better and almost no cam-out when driving under load... 3) you can buy gadgets that fasten to your tool belt and hold your drill... keeps it handy! Criticisms: 1) if the hum sounds came from a CD, BURN IT! and either leave shop sounds or overdub a narrative - I’m personally a fan of narratives because they can be used to explain what you’re doing! 2) if the humming sounds came from a website, DELETE it from your history!! 3) personal issues - wear hearing/eye protection! If not for yourself and your family, then for the folks you’re setting an example for! 4) other personal issues - I’m old-school and it fries my brain when I see folks pull running mitre saws BACK thru cuts... WHEN (not if...) the blade catches one edge or the other, you’ll resultantly be far more awake and alert immediately after than you probably ever have been - meaning KICKBACK. And remember: you’re setting an example for some just as you’re being fun to watch for others!!

The long 2x4 is a cross brace between the two legs it works relatively well though there is some wobble.

Well done but I do not want to pull down the table every time I needed one of the stored tools such as a level. Also the table shook even when you were wiping the finish onto it. Not stable enough for me.
@YourCouchsucks
@YourCouchsucks 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, understand makes sense. For me, I have 2nd set of everyday use tools that are not in the storage. The ones that are there are what I would use if the bench is down. As far as the shake the wheels were not locked so I could spin it as needed while putting on the Linseed oil. That said it not as steady as a permeate non-moving workbench so it's a trade-off in the mobility

@@YourCouchsucks Got it, I too have seconds if not thirds of many tools. I am certain locking the wheels would make a serious difference. Excellent video and build.

@@YourCouchsucks Will do. I have recently sold my property of 22 years (11 1/2 acres) which included my two studios, plus a barn and two wood storage buildings an oversized 2 car garage and an 800 Sq Ft shop where I built vernacular furniture for 20 plus years. I now have a 12 x 12 shed which I have gutted and rebuilt and now installing shelving and benches etc, and a 1 1/2 car garage and a 12 X 16 ft room for my art/finishing studio. Now looking for ways to make all this work as my complete shop is now in a storage facility. Space is now at a premium and all help welcomed. Thanks.

nice idea, and awesome application! I'm going to try something like this in my own garage. I have some criticism, and hope this is helpful. The video editing (cuts, and how things would abruptly swap) took my attention away. I don't know the first thing about video editing, so I have nothing to offer besides what I noticed. thanks for the video and instructions!

The only thing I would change would be to use collapsable casters bolted onto the sides of the legs. Then, install levelers into the bottom of the legs. Both are on Amazon and not expensive. Great video with excellent editing. Unfortunately, I don't thing I'll be able to get humming song out of my head for a long time....sigh. Buying your plans, BTW.
